had been questioning his loyal butler and reviewing footage from his time in

a coma. Now, he knew who exactly wanted him dead and who had fought to

save him. His mind was clear.

“Father, let me explain, I—‘

“There’s no need to explain,” Ewald interrupted coldly. “You’re to leave

immediately. From today onward, Denis will be the patriarch of the Toma

family. All my assets and shares will be transferred to him for management.”

The finality of Ewald’s words hit Cezar like a hammer. He stood there, eyes

filled with rage, but knew that any further protest would only make things

worse. Glaring at Emmanuel, he gritted his teeth and stormed out, followed

by his family and loyalists.

Ewald never imagined that half of the Toma family would walk out in

defiance. If he hadn’t come back from the brink of death, Cezar would have

Denis was not only a man of his word but also keen on securing the Toma

family’s alliance with the Quillen family by offering his daughter’s hand to

Shane.

“Will do, Dad,” Sonia replied, though her feelings were conflicted.

It wasn’t that Sonia wanted to back out of the arrangement, but Shane just

wasn’t her type. She had always been drawn to men with charisma and

realizing he didn’t have a car in Eldoria.

“No need for that,” Sonia replied. “You can drive my car. If you’re not

comfortable driving, I can have the driver take us.”

“No, no! I can totally drive! I’m a great driver. You’ll see!” Shane puffed out his

chest with pride.

Sonia blushed a little at his enthusiasm.

Shane suddenly realized the potential misunderstanding and quickly

smacked his forehead. “Miss Toma, I mean driving a car, not… that other kind

of driving. I’ve never driven in that way, I swear!”

Sonia stared at him, her face now bright red.

Shane continued to dig himself deeper, fumbling with his words. “No, no, wait!

I mean, I can drive, but not like… uh, not like that! I’m really good at driving

cars, just not… oh man, what am I even saying?”

Sonia finally let out a chuckle
