On a remote mountain path, where the whispering winds and rustling leaves

spoke secrets of old, two figures made their way through the dense foliage. A

man and a woman, moving with purpose and quiet determination.

“Xarri, the Ancient Woods is a boundless expanse,” Quell voiced her concern,

her eyes scanning the looming trees and tangled underbrush. “If we continue

wandering, we might lose our way and perish in its depths.”

In the vast and unforgiving embrace of nature, human strength seemed but

a flicker in the grand scheme of things.

Even the most skilled martial artists, who had mastered their art to

perfection, found themselves dwarfed by nature’s might. The Ancient Woods was so immense that traversing its entire length could take over a century

on foot.

Yet Xarri remained unshakably confident. “We will find that hidden family,” he declared with unwavering resolve, his gaze fixed ahead as he searched for

signs of their elusive quarry.

She, though puzzled by her brother’s boundless confidence, trusted him

implicitly. She had always believed that Xarri possessed an extraordinary

vision–one that could discern what was hidden from ordinary sight.

She was convinced that Xarri’s prowess was unparalleled–greater even than

the famed Gwain of the Lannister family

“Xarri, are you certain the Dragon Tome was taken by the Summerton family?” Quell asked, her voice tinged with both hope and apprehension.

“Ninety percent sure,” Xarri affirmed, his nod slow and deliberate. His years spent on Dark Night Islands had been shrouded in secrecy, and he had never shared the murky affairs of the Lannister family with his sister.

The isolation of the Dark Night Islands had made it impossible to consider

anything beyond survival. Now that they had escaped its confines, Xarri was ready to divulge the truths he had kept hidden.

“Fifteen years ago, it was widely known that the Dragon Tome was not in our

dad’s possession. Those treacherous individuals used this pretext to drive

him to his death and obliterate his bloodline, seizing control of the Lannister

family’s power and its vast repository of martial secrets.”

Quell’s expression hardened as she clenched her teeth, a storm of anger

brewing within her. At that tender age of eight, she had been blissfully

unaware of such grim realities. Now, the revelation fueled a deeper rage

against the Lannister family.

“Dad once confided that the Dragon Tome was in the hands of the

Summerton family and that it was tied to a monumental transaction,” Xarri

continued, his tone grave.

we will locate the hidden branch.”

Quell marveled at her brother’s ingenuity. His ability to connect the dots she

had missed left her in awe.

Still intrigued, she asked, “Xarri, how did you track down the Onza Summerton

family?”

“I conversed with Emmanuel during our ocean voyage,” Xarri replied with a knowing smile. “I was aware of his sister’s connections to the Onza

Summerton family. A few days ago, I called to check on his wife’s condition

and, in our conversation, inquired about his sister’s whereabouts. That’s how

learned she was in Eldoria, the same city we’re heading to. It was a fortunate

coincidence.”

Her admiration for her brother deepened.

Meanwhile, on a separate journey, Ashton, her brother, and sister–in–law

continued their trek through the wilderness. For two more days and nights,

they pressed on, untroubled by signs of pursuit but equally isolated, having

yet to encounter another soul.
