Chapter 1805

Despite his passionate speech, Rhett remained unresponsive.

He was not aligned with the Holy Trinity. Addressing Emmanuel, he said, “Our identities

and roles are fundamentally different, and so are our beliefs. In this world, respect is

reserved for the strong; the convictions of the weak are disregarded. If you can best me

in the duel, I’ll follow your lead. Otherwise, you will have to follow mine.”

Emmanuel responded with a smile. “Sure! Let me detoxify you first.”

Rhett, puzzled and with a furrowed brow, asked, “Why are you doing this?” He assumed

Emmanuel would refuse the treatment, interpreting this as a gesture of support.

I will show you the same respect you show me,” Emmanuel replied earnestly. “If you

can accept our differing beliefs, then so can I Winning against the King of Ophanim in

an imperfect state is simply not honorable. I don’t want such a victory.”

Rhett observed him for a while, and upon seeing the sincerity in his eyes, he burst out

Haughing.

For a long moment, neither of them said a word. They both had limited knowledge

about each other, but strong individuals often understand one another through direct

confrontation. They didn’t delve deeper, as time was of the essence.

Eventually, Rhett agreed to Emmanuel’s help in detoxifying him.

“By the way, why do you want to defend that woman?” Emmanuel asked, while

performing acupuncture to detoxify Rhett.

“Since you protect Aqua, who has no connection to you, why can’t I protect her?”

Rhett’s answer surprised Emmanuel again.

It seems that Rhett is very aware of every move the Black Wolf Team makes, or did he

infer from Aqua’s continued presence?

“Are you suggesting she is related to you?”

Emmanuel, perceptive as ever, grasped the implication behind Rhett’s words.

“Yes! Her name is Liana Flynn!”

Rhett provided only the name, adding, “You might be able to form a connection with

her. She advocates for the Saintess’s freedom and has long wished for my death.”

Emmanuel shivered slightly and questioned, “Does supporting the Saintess’s freedom

mean she desires your death? Aren’t you her brother?”

present significant challenges!” Rhett unexpectedly brought this up.

Emmanuel frowned and asked, “Why would it be challenging?”

“Because I was involved in designing that base, and it follows the principle that ‘the

strongest shall not be broken!“”

Rhett seemed a bit proud as he explained, “The button to open the dock is located in a

specially designed secret room with strict technological controls. Only two people cam

enter at a time. If more than two are detected, the door locks completely, and even with

the technological capabilities of Dark Night Islands, it cannot be breached.”

Emmanuel nodded, understanding the situation. No wonder that over the years, no one

on Dark Night Islands has thought of leaving. Even the legendary figure–Xarri–can

only wait for the destined person he predicted!

“The guards of the base room are all former kings of Dark Night Islands, who have been

bribed by the Airspace Group!” Rhett went on “Apart from me and Xarri, who have the

capability to face them, even with Xan’s strength, defeating those guards will be tough.

I don’t think you can count on Quell and Vachon!”
