Life at The Top novel Chapter 2262

The two did not waste any more time and soon came to a suburb of Bashra in the north of the city. There were many companies started by oil businessmen here and Saul was one of them.

Soon, Jasper and Julian arrived at their destination, and they saw a large oil base.

Jasper found that this place was at least twice as big as his own just judging by the scale. Since he had experience, he understood the painstaking efforts and hard work Saul put in to get this oil field.

It was also because of this that when Jasper heard that Saul was going to give up the oil field, he was surprised.

‘What happened to Saul that forced him to make such a decision?’

When they met again, Jasper was surprised to find that Saul had become disheveled. The Saul who used to dress in a neat suit and smile whenever he saw everyone was gone. Now, Saul looked more like a beggar.

”Mr. Jefferson, l’m here… What happened? Can you tell me?”

Saul had been staring blankly until he heard Jasper calling his name.

Immediately afterward, he informed Jasper about his participation in the first round of crude oil sample testing in the morning.

”Originally, it wasn’t a big deal that my crude oil sample failed the test… I shouldn’t have been too emotional. I couldn’t accept the result and talked back to the professor. As a result, a few hours later, news spread throughout Bashra, and now I can’t sell my oil anymore…”

When Saul said this, Jasper grasped the point at once.

“Hey, it’s my fault too. If only I had come to tell you the final result sooner…”

Saul was obviously a little bit taken aback after seeing the pity on Jasper’s face

“Is it? But… It’s unlikely. I don’t believe Murik would deceive me!”

Saul clearly trusted Murik, but what Jasper said next left him speechless.

“There is a possibility that Mr. Murik was also deceived…”

As soon as these words came out, Saul took a sharp breath. If Mr. Murik was also deceived, it meant that there was a huge conspiracy behind all this!

Jasper spoke again at this point.

”The information I got came from the minister of the International Petroleum Organization. I won’t force you to believe me. I could only predict the result… In the future, there will be many more oil fields that will fail the inspection including mine. These oil fields will all either be very profitable, or are at odds with the Petroleum Chamber of Commerce. Do you believe me?”
