Chapter 293: As Expected

The demon god vanished from sight, his speed so overwhelming that Xiang Yu could barely track the movement. In the next instant, searing pain exploded through Xiang Yu as the demon god’s fist punched clean through his lower abdomen, leaving a gaping hole.

Blood sprayed through the air as Xiang Yu was hurled backward like a ragdoll, his body spinning violently before he managed to steady himself. His regeneration instantly kicked in and the wound began sealing, flesh and bone knitting back together quickly until no trace of the injury remained.

The demon god’s eyes narrowed, he thought to himself that Xiang Yu’s regeneration was really impressive. "You’re far more durable than you appear." he said as he vanished once again.

Xiang Yu saw a kick aimed at his left side through his precognition. He twisted to avoid the strike, but the demon god was simply too fast, making evasion impossible. The impact shattered his ribs and sent him through the air, his left arm that he had tried to block with at the last moment hanging loosely and twisted in the opposite direction.

Xiang Yu gritted his teeth as his body repaired itself once again. His precognition advantage was being completely neutralized by the demon god’s raw power and speed. Even knowing what was coming, he simply couldn’t react fast enough to avoid the attacks.

"Your future sight is useless if your body can’t keep up with what your mind sees." the demon god said mockingly.

Another devastating strike sent Xiang Yu flying through the air. Before he could stabilize himself, the demon god materialized beside him, striking towards his neck, planning to cut his head clean off. Xiang Yu borrowed power from his void domain and managed to escape through breaking space, though he was still not fast enough and the demon god managed to completely sever his right arm at the shoulder.

As he reappeared on the opposite side of the battlefield, the limb regenerated within seconds. He flexed it to feel its functionality as he observed the demon god. He thought to himself that this wouldn’t last for long, he needed to change his strategy.

As the demon god launched another assault, Xiang Yu suddenly used the power of his domain once again. Using it to enhance the power behind his fist.

Xiang Yu’s fist connected solidly with the demon god’s ribs. The force behind the blow caught him completely off guard, producing a loud crack before sending him stumbling backward.

The demon god’s expression shifted as he placed his hand on his ribs. "It’s that power again," he thought. If he hadn’t used his own domain’s power to resist some of the damage, he would’ve been seriously injured. What surprised him even more was that he had used his domain power to resist the blow yet he still lost out in the battle for power.

Xiang Yu thought to himself that using the domain put tremendous strain on his soul, that’s why he didn’t want to expand his domain recklessly. If he was to use it, he needed to time its usage perfectly. Preferably when the demon god used his own domain first so he can counter.

The battle continued.

Half of Xiang Yu’s torso was blasted away by a concentrated qi attack, only to regenerate moments later. His left leg was severed completely, then restored.

With each fatal injury he recovered from, the demon god took him more and more seriously, using even more ferocious attacks.
