Hearing Anika's words, Zane frowned. He underestimated Lucia's concern for Neve, or he underestimated Lucia's ruthlessness.
Zane didn't respond to Anika's question. He smoked half his cigarette before saying, "I'll take a shower and come down."
Anika, standing at the door, was relieved when she heard Zane's words.
"Okay, then I'll reheat the food."
"Okay."
Hearing Anika leave, Zane threw the cigarette into the ashtray beside him. Looking at the mess all over the floor, Zane frowned slightly.
He had turned into what he hated the most.
The bed was covered with Yanis' clothes. For the past two days he had been staring at them, fantasizing about how Yanis looked like in them.
Missing her and concerns for her were like a big fire, burning him to ashes...
...
Half an hour later, Zane dressed up and went downstairs.
Anika had reheated the meal.
"Zane."
Seeing Zane coming down the stairs, Anika stood up and took two steps forward.
"Have you eaten?"
Anika hummed, "I ate with grandma at the Lawrence's Manson."
Zane sat down at the dining table, "Is dad in the company?"
Anika nodded, "Grandpa also went there. Dad was worried that you missed Yanis, so he didn't tell you about what happened in the company. He and grandpa are dealing with it. Albi called you several times before, but you didn't answer, so he didn't dare to call you again. These days Albi has been very busy with Dad."
Zane listened to Anika's words while eating, his deep eyes telling he was thinking of something.
"I'll ask the housekeeper to come over and tidy up this place. Stay here."
Anika nodded, "Shall I ask Sophia to buy something? I'll live here for a few days."
After Catherine fell, Anika moved back to the Lawrence's Manson.
Even though she didn't feel like to, considering Lucia had already left the Lawrence's Manson, she decided to move back for Catherine's sake.
Zane replied, "Okay."
Anika sent Zane to the door, and looked at him as he walked towards the direction of the parking lot, "Zane."
Hearing Anika's voice, Zane stopped and looked back, "What's wrong?"
"She came to me and asked if I would like a settlement."
Hearing Anika's words, Zane frowned and looked at her, "I will deal with this matter. Next time she comes to you, just ignore her."
Anika took two steps forward, "But Zane, she said that as long as I agree, she will let Yanis come back."
"She won't."
Zane's tone was firm.
Zane didn't know Lucia very well, but he was sure she wouldn't let Yanis go.
Even if he compromised and helped to reduce Neve's sentence, and Anika also reconciled, Neve still had to stay in jail for a while.
Before Neve was set free, Lucia wouldn't let go of Yanis.
Anika was taken aback, "But Zane, if we don't try, how do we know it won't work?"
Anika didn't trust Lucia either.
But she knew that Yanis suffered a lot because of her and now Yanis was once again involved because of these trivial matters.
It was not fair to Yanis in any sense.
There was half an hour before people got off work.
When Zane showed up, the atmosphere in the company became tense.
Albi personally greeted Zane in the hall, "Mr. Lawrence."
Zane nodded, "Are my father and grandfather still there?"
Albi said, "They are still in the office, Bruce holds 20% of the shares, and is now the second largest shareholder after you."
Hearing Albi's words, Zane walked towards the elevator in wide strides.
Albi followed closely behind, pressing the elevator for Zane.
After entering the elevator, Albi briefly described the situation briefly to Zane, "Now your father and grandfather are confronting Bruce."
Zane's face was cold, "Where's Lucia?"
Albi said, "She is still under the police's watch. She came here this morning and then went back without showing up any more. Our people have been watching her and spying on her phone too."
When the elevator stopped, Zane looked sideways at Albi and asked, "Any news from Viteto?"
Albi nodded solemnly, "The police in Viteto are still investigating. Except for your wife's phone picked up on the road, nothing has been found so far."
When Zane stepped out of the elevator and walked into the conference room, something seemed occurred to him.
He took out his mobile phone from his pocket, found out a number, and handed it to Albi, "Look up this number."
Albi wrote down it, "Shall I send it to Mr. Hughes? He should be faster and more accurate than us."
Zane hummed, "Tell him I owe him a favor."
Albi replied, "I'll contact him in a while."
Zane nodded, walked to the conference room, opened the door, and walked in.
