In the private room.
After Myles and Bonnie left, Haider naturally didn't stick around to be the third wheel.
He said bye, got up, and left the room to pay the bill.
Yanis and Zane were the only two people left in the big private room.
Yanis stood aside for a while. Then she looked at Zane in front of her. "What are we going to talk about?"
"Mr. Hughes asked me to come over tonight. I don't know..."
"Mr. Lawrence." Yanis interrupted, "you don't have to explain anything. It's not necessary."
Zane's planned speech was disrupted by Yanis' few words.
In fact, Zane himself had no idea what he came for.
He either wanted to explain, or wanted to say something else.
But apparently, either way, Yanis was not going to give him the chance to talk.
Suddenly the atmosphere in the private room became unspeakably subdued.
The sudden ringing of the phone broke the silence in the room.
Zane didn't answer the phone immediately. His eyes fell on Yanis.
Yanis was a little uncomfortable when Zane stared at her. She pressed her lower lip and said, "if there's nothing else, I'll leave now."
Yanis then opened the door and was about to leave.
But before she could get out, Zane grabbed her wrist and said, "I'll give you a ride."
"No, I can go home myself."
Zane didn't let her go but took Yanis's hand and walked toward the elevator.
They ran into Kane, who was coming out of Marina Brook Room.
Kane was obviously stunned when he saw Zane, especially when he saw the person Zane was holding. Kane had been in the media industry for so many years, so he could recognize him easily. "Mr. Lawrence."
Zane nodded in response.
Kane was also smart. He closed the door behind him carefully.
Yanis tried to pull her hand out of Zane's when she saw someone else.
But Zane's grip was so tight that Yanis had no chance to pull her hand back.
Luckily, Zane didn't stay too long and led Yanis straight to the elevator.
Kane stood at the door and watched Zane and Yanis, wondering what was going on.
He was going to use Neve to please Zane tonight, but apparently, Zane didn't ask much about Neve.
After Zane and Yanis got in the elevator, Kane hesitated a bit and called Haider.
Haider picked up the call immediately with a growled voice. "Mr. Porter?"
Kane answered with a smile. "Mr. Hughes, there's something I'd like to ask you."
"Anything, Mr. Porter. Tell me about it."
Kane formulated his words and said, "I just saw Mr. Lawrence."
Haider almost guessed that Zane was leaving with Yanis when he heard Kane say this.
Haider whispered, "Mr. Porter, you've been in this business for years, and some rumors are bad for the image."
Kane was naturally aware of Haider's warning and laughed. "Mr. Hughes, take it easy, I don't think I'm going to put my job in jeopardy. I've got a lot of employees to take care of."
Haider simply laughed at Kane's suggestion. "What else do you want to talk about, Mr. Porter?"
Kane hesitated. "Mr. Hughes, we have been doing business with each other for a long time, so I'll ask you directly. Is there any possibility between Mr. Lawrence and Miss Bennett?"
Nancy's voice arose through her cell phone. "Mr. Lawrence, this is Nancy."
Zane frowned as he heard the voice. "Yes?" He asked calmly.
Zane's tone might be cold, but Nancy didn't mince her words. She said, "Mr. Lawrence, could you please come to Neve's apartment? She's been asking for you."
"I can't. I'm stuck with some business."
"But..."
Before Nancy could finish her sentence, the voice on the other end of the line changed, "Zane, are you forcing me?"
Neve sounded slightly drunk over the phone. Strangely enough,
Yanis couldn't help but prick up her ears for a long time. But she couldn't recognize the voice on the phone.
However, Neve's voice was so clear to Zane.
She clutched her hands, blinked her eyes, and silently looked out of the window.
Yanis' thoughts quickly drifted away while watching the buildings flash by outside the window.
Yanis didn't know what Neve said. Zane's face didn't look good.
Even the atmosphere seemed to freeze in the tiny space.
The car soon pulled up to The Sunrise Wedding Planner.
The lights were still off, so Bonnie wasn't back yet.
Yanis unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car directly.
"Yanis."
As Yanis was about to close the car door, Zane looked at her and whispered.
Yanis paused and stood by the car, looking down at him.
