At the end of the next workday at Shelton Law Firm, Sarah walked over to Tessa's desk and handed her a file.
"Tessa, as per the firm's usual practice, handling client negotiations is typically the business department's job. However, as you know, being a lawyer requires strong negotiation skills.
"In fact, in most cases, it's best if you handle consultations independently. Having said that, I have a case here that I need you to negotiate."
Tessa picked up the file and looked through it.
Sarah continued, "If you successfully secure this case, I'll give you a 20% commission based
on the business department's rate. This can also be combined with the subsequent lawyer's fee."
Tessa wasn't particularly concerned about the commission. Rather, what excited her more was the opportunity to hone her negotiation skills.
When she was working at a law firm in Haverford, case negotiations were typically handled by the business department before being handed over to the lawyers. She also had no connections there, which was why she rarely had the chance to negotiate cases herself.
Tessa accepted the job and looked up at Sarah. "Got it, Ms. Young."
Sarah patted Tessa on the shoulder reassuringly. "The meeting is set for 7:00 pm at Starlight Club. I'll have William go with you. Thanks for your hard work!"

At 6.30 pm, Tessa walked over to William's table and asked, "Mr. Kiernan, how are we getting to the meeting later?"
William looked at her with a disdainful gaze. "Let's drive your boyfriend's Cullinan there. I'm sure it will make quite the entrance."
When Tessa had gone to the hospital to visit Tim yesterday, Yasmin and William had spotted her getting out of a Cullinan. William had even asked her about it.

Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
This is funny! Jacqueline was also the culprit why James knew that nancy was Stephen's cousin. So, really, what happened when steohen tortured jacqueline hahah...
I wonder how many authors does this book have? Suddenly jacqueline was back and continue to bad mouth tessa. And was stunned that tessa knows her feelings about stephen. And then rowena was freaking mad at tessa too; because there werw multiple instances that tessa sharp-tongued her. 🤣...
