Tessa lowered her gaze and said sadly, "My dad wants me to break up with Stephen, but I don't want to."
Molly and Jasmine exchanged looks.
Then, Jasmine asked, "Is it because of that illegitimate son from the Jacobson family?"
Jasmine and Molly had been there when James' men had attacked Tessa for revenge, and they had nearly died in the attack.
Luckily, Wynn had been with them at the time.
Molly and Jasmine still had a lingering sense of fear whenever they thought about that incident.
When the police concluded the investigation report, Tessa had briefly explained the situation that led to the incident. Molly and Jasmine were informed that the Jacobson family had an illegitimate son. They just weren't aware of the minute details.
Hence, when Tessa heard Jasmine's question, she nodded and replied, "Yes. That very illegitimate son had Arcton's prime minister backing him from behind the scenes. Needless to say, the guy had a lot of power.
"Because of my relationship with Stephen back then, my family and I were dragged into the mess countless times. That's why my dad is so against our relationship."
Jasmine said, "That's understandable."
After taking two more swigs of alcohol, Tessa's face turned beet red. "But the Jacobson's illegitimate son has already been captured by the police.
"Once all of his legal proceedings have been sorted out, he'll be receiving the death penalty for sure. Their adopted daughter has also been sentenced to life. The obstacles between Stephen and me are gone now.
"Not to mention, I still have my bodyguard following me at all times. No one will be able to harm me because of Stephen anymore, so why can't we just be together again?"
Molly took a swig of her drink and answered, "Objectively, everything you're saying is true. However, your dad has basically gone through hell and back, so it's normal for him to be against the idea of you two being together. It's just human nature."
"My dad told me I could be with anyone, except Stephen. But Stephen is the only one I like, and he's the only one I want," Tessa murmured as tears pooled in her eyes.
Jasmine sighed heavily beside her. "Love's just like that. You can't end things with just a few words."

Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
