Stephen's voice was hoarse as he said, "I didn't come here alone. Samson's here with me, and we've been taking turns driving. Tess, my heart won't be at ease until I see you in person."

Tessa tightened her grip around Melody's phone, and she felt her heart skip a beat as her eyes stung slightly.

The town she was in was remote, and floods surrounded them. There was even a risk of a landslide happening nearby.
It was too dangerous for Stephen to come, and she could not let him walk into such danger.
However, Stephen did not listen. To her surprise, his voice began to tremble as he said, "Tess, if anything happens to you, life would lose its meaning."
Tessa's heart skipped a beat. However, the feeling was quickly replaced by a sharp stab of pain in her heart.
"I'm not afraid of danger. I'm only afraid that I'll never be able to see you again," he said.
After the storm, the sky had cleared. The setting sun slowly peeked through the clouds, casting a warm orange glow across the horizon. The clouds looked as if they had been set ablaze by the sunlight, casting a beautiful glow in the sky.
Tessa exhaled gently as tears blurred her vision.

That night, Tessa could not sleep. She kept thinking of Stephen, and her heart was heavy with unease.
Even though the rain had stopped, the town she was in was too secluded, so most of the floodwaters nearby had not receded fully.

Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
This is funny! Jacqueline was also the culprit why James knew that nancy was Stephen's cousin. So, really, what happened when steohen tortured jacqueline hahah...
I wonder how many authors does this book have? Suddenly jacqueline was back and continue to bad mouth tessa. And was stunned that tessa knows her feelings about stephen. And then rowena was freaking mad at tessa too; because there werw multiple instances that tessa sharp-tongued her. 🤣...
