Matthew never thought that Tessa would be so fierce. Up until now, he had believed she was just a soft and gentle woman.
By the time he snapped back to his senses, Tessa had already left.
Yanis was enraged and ready to charge after Tessa. However, Matthew quickly stopped her and said, "Alright, stop making a scene now. This is the entrance to the courthouse!"
She immediately burst into tears and sobbed. "Matthew, you're just a heartless bastard! Your wife was being bullied, yet you just stood there and did nothing! Fuck off! Don't touch me!"
Annoyance filled Matthew's eyes as he said, "Alright, now. Stop making a fuss. Let's go back together."
"What's wrong? Mom, what happened to your face?" Zachary, who had just come out of the restroom, walked toward them in confusion.
"That bitch, Tessa, slapped me!"
Matthew's expression darkened as he said, "Zachary, take your mom away. She's embarrassing us all by making a scene here."
"Dad, what happened?" Zachary asked with a frown.
Matthew explained, "Your mom rushed at Ms. Yates just now, wanting to hit her. However, she didn't manage to hit her and got slapped instead.
"She's the one who started it, so you can't blame Ms. Yates for slapping her. Alright. Let's just go home."
Zachary reproached her for her actions and said, "Mom, I know you aren't happy with the court's decision, but that doesn't mean you can hit someone. Tessa is Dad's lawyer and was just doing her job. You shouldn't have taken out your anger on her."
Yanis' eyes turned red as she screamed, "You're supporting that bitch instead of your own family now, are you? I am your mother! How could you support that bitch over me? Do you even see me as your mother anymore?"
Enraged, Zachary roared, "How could you say that I don't see you as my mother? I listened to you too much. I wouldn't have snuck around with Wendy, nor would I have hurt Tessa if I didn't listen to you!"
"Are you blaming me now?" Yanis exclaimed.
Zachary sneered and replied, "How could I possibly dare to blame you?"
"Alright, stop arguing now. My ride's here. Let's go back together," Matthew said as he left the courthouse.

Once Tessa returned to the law firm, her receptionist, Aubrey Reed, greeted her with a smile. "Ms. Yates, you're back. Ms. Scott's waiting for you in your office."
Tessa paused. "Ms. Scott is here?"
"That's right. She's been waiting for almost an hour now. I told her you had a court hearing today, but she said she was fine with waiting," Aubrey said.

Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
This is funny! Jacqueline was also the culprit why James knew that nancy was Stephen's cousin. So, really, what happened when steohen tortured jacqueline hahah...
I wonder how many authors does this book have? Suddenly jacqueline was back and continue to bad mouth tessa. And was stunned that tessa knows her feelings about stephen. And then rowena was freaking mad at tessa too; because there werw multiple instances that tessa sharp-tongued her. 🤣...
