His attitude toward Veronica changed drastically after she managed to sell a luxury car. “Look at how swollen your face is. Come, let’s go. I’ll take you to the hospital, and you can take the rest of the day off. Report to work again after the swelling on your face subsides.”

Veronica could feel her cheeks burn with pain, and what she really wanted now was to go back and rest.
