The dinner banquet was scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.
The yard at the Jensen residence had been decorated with lights. The moment the sky turned dark, all the lights both inside the house and out in the yard turned on. From a distance, the entire compound looked like a resplendent castle.
Cars started pulling up to the residence before it was even 7:00 pm. Varying groups of immaculately dressed young men and women stepped out of the vehicles.
George had invited those who had a fairly close relationship with the Jensens. These were all prominent figures and families in Seastone and even Crisea itself.
Some of the young men and women came with their families, while a small portion of them had been tasked to attend the event on their family's behalf. They all came bearing a gift. The pomp and grandeur of the dinner banquet were truly a spectacle to behold.
When Rachel got out of the car with the Grays, she was thunderstruck by the attendees.
A great number of them were people that even Francis wasn't qualified to establish a connection with. The young men and women were also people Rachel could only admire through their social media channels.
"You're incredible, Rach! You even got an invite to the Jensen family's event. You're indeed our lucky star," Francis said as he looked at Rachel with an approving gaze.
Due to the Jensens abruptly canceling the partnership, Francis' hopes for the company had been dashed. However, he couldn't resign himself to losing the chance to get involved with the Jensens so easily.
When he heard that Sheila and Rachel got an invitation to the Jensens' dinner banquet, he decided to use this chance to resume their collaboration.
Seeing the spirited look on Francis' face, Sheila felt a little uneasy.
She tugged on Rachel's arm and murmured, "Rach, should we give your father a heads-up? What if he finds out that the Jensens' daughter is… He won't be prepared for that news."
Worried that Francis would blame them for the termination of the partnership between the Jensens and the Grays, Sheila and Rachel never told him that Shannon might be the long-lost daughter of the Jensen family.
Bradley immediately gave up all intention of pursuing Shannon and started dating Rachel instead.
At first, when Rachel asked him to get her family an invitation to the dinner banquet, it felt like a tall task to him. Yet, by sheer coincidence, something came up with his uncle, Greg, and his family. Thus, the Johnsons had a spare invitation, so he gave it to the Grays.
Greg, the one the Shaws confronted yesterday, was Bradley's second uncle.
If Bradley knew what happened with Greg and his family last night—and who had stormed over to their house—he probably wouldn't openly bring the Grays with him to attend the Jensens' dinner banquet.
Soon, light shot out of the house, illuminating the area. Everyone followed the light in.
The dinner banquet thrown to welcome the return of the long-lost daughter of the Jensens was finally beginning.
