Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1795

As the replicator of the book, Eamon could have translated it as well. However, before he had a chance to speak up, he felt a pair of dark eyes subtly glance in his direction.

Though the gaze held no emotion, it made Eamon's soul shudder. Without a word, he quickly turned around and slipped back into one of the books on the shelf.

Shannon didn't notice Benjamin's expression. Her gaze was fixed on the book, and after a second, she decisively accepted his favor. "Sure, thank you."

Her tone sounded formal, no longer as casual as it used to be.

Benjamin's gaze flickered for a moment. He felt a tug in his chest, but his expression remained unaffected. Without a word, he turned and walked over to the desk on the other side of the room.

The study room was designed specifically for reading and writing, with everything one might need. Except… There was no one else present.

After all, most of the residents in the Demon District were demons. While demons were typically full of energy, they weren't particularly fond of reading.

The cultural courses at the demonic school made up less than half of the curriculum, and most demons had a rather indifferent attitude toward these subjects, simply passing through them as a formality.

Shannon walked over to him, holding the book and handing it back to him. She then picked up a pen and began to make notes.

Simply understanding the text wasn't enough—if she wanted to uncover more clues about the Aethria national barrier, she needed to record everything and later study it with Logan, Skylar, and Mike.

In the quiet study, the two of them sat side by side. The soft, cool tone of Benjamin's voice broke the silence, slowly recounting the ancient history of Aethria from thousands of years ago as recorded in the book.

One spoke, the other wrote; no further words were exchanged between them.

On the other side, through the gap in the window, Kai watched the scene in the study, where time seemed to stand still in peaceful harmony.

Unable to help himself, he lowered his head, puzzled, and muttered, "Do you think those two are making up?"

Benji Gold, whose petite frame allowed it to peek around quite openly, overheard Kai's question. It tilted its head thoughtfully, then glanced back at the two figures in the study.

After a long pause, it hugged its tiny head and shook it in a distressed manner. It didn't know either. It had no brain and refused to think.

That answer spun around in his mind but ultimately couldn't be said aloud.

With a subtle twist of his wrist, he covered the mark with the golden light, simply saying, "It's nothing."

Shannon noticed his attempt to avoid the subject. In an instant, her mood dampened, and her expression grew colder.

She didn't press further, instead moving aside to allow him to draw the rune patterns. At the same time, she reminded herself in her heart.

The man before her was not the Benjamin she once knew, and she shouldn't intervene in his matters. Once all the books and materials were sorted, she wouldn't see him again.

Benjamin also sensed the slight shift in her mood and felt an unexpected twinge of regret. After a long pause, he gathered himself and said nothing further.

Meanwhile, Kai, who had been eavesdropping outside the window, shifted his gaze from Shannon to the lightning-like fine lines on Benjamin's wrist.

For once, his face showed a rare expression as if he were deep in thought.
