Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1787

That scene was similar to what she had imagined and longed for countless times.

Without waking the other, Shannon gently buried her head into the soft fox tails, her movements tender and reliant. Yet, despite her quiet gesture, Thalia slowly began to stir, waking up.

Her eyes were full of tenderness. She lowered her lead and planted a kiss on Shannon's head. "Is my sweet little baby finally awake?"

This time, it made Shannon blush deeply. After all, she was 18, not eight. Even if she were eight, being called in such a fond manner would still feel inexplicably embarrassing.

However, Thalia remained utterly unashamed, a proud look on her face.

It was rare for Shannon to let her cuddle her to sleep, so of course, she wanted to make up for the guilt of not being able to watch her grow up.

If she had been by her side from the start, she would've held her to sleep every day and given her a good morning kiss when she woke up.

Perhaps, once Shannon had transformed, she would wrap her in her tails and lovingly groom her hair.

She wanted to shower her with as much love as possible and make up for the years of loneliness. She didn't want Shannon to feel like she had to be so guarded, easily afraid of losing those around her because of the struggles of growing up alone.

The two of them didn't get up right away.

Shannon casually held onto one of Thalia's tails, lying in bed as she slowly started talking about her situation with Benjamin. She had initially thought she could handle it, but it was her first time falling for someone.

She, too, would feel lost and disappointed.

Thalia listened quietly, not offering much advice or criticizing Benjamin. Instead, she spoke again about her past with Adam.

Not dwelling on it further, she shifted the topic to the dream she had earlier.

Thalia was slightly surprised to hear about the ten tails. Knowing she might have some insight, Shannon asked, "Mom, does a ten-tailed fox really exist?"

Thalia answered, "A thousand years ago, the Wynthorpe clan had a ten-tailed fox. It was a being akin to a divine creature, said to have the ability to communicate with the Divine Power."

She paused here, glancing at Shannon, her expression a little hesitant. After a long silence, she continued, "I don't know why you would dream of the ten-tailed fox, but there have been rumors within our clan.

"It is said that a half-demon bloodline is most likely to give birth to a descendant with the blood of a ten-tailed fox, a return-to-ancestor child."

That bloodline was what the clan had been searching for, the most suitable vessel.
