Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1767

Since last year, Krovia had begun discharging nuclear wastewater into the ocean.

At first, there had been widespread opposition, but those voices ended up being silenced.

Though their opposition could be silenced, the putrefaction spreading through the sea could not be erased. And now, the consequences had begun.

Yet, the sins of one nation should never be borne by the entire world.

"If I want to completely purify putrefaction at its source, I'll have to pour in all my accumulated energy. When that happens, I'll fall back into slumber."

That was why Benjamin hadn't said goodbye to Shannon. He knew how much he meant to her and how long she'd waited for him.

But he was the one she'd ended up getting, and that was a good thing. If it was the original Benjamin forced into slumber again, she'd be devastated.

As for Benjamin, he'd always known what he was going to do from the start.

He was the Dragon Vein, and purifying the world's putrefaction was his duty.

His ink-black pupils appeared calm, but if one looked deeper, a vortex as deep and endless as the ocean abyss churned within them.

Benjamin did not hesitate. There was no need for doubt since he'd made up his mind.

"From this moment on, you will stand guard for me," he commanded the Mini Stone Turtle as he stepped forward.

But just as he did, his heart suddenly felt as though it was lightly grasped. The wind seemed to whisper in the distance, and amongst the wind, he heard her voice.

"Benjamin… Wait for me."

Far above the clouds, a colossal black dragon streaked through the sky like lightning.

He made no effort to hide. According to the speed he was moving, he'd be gone by the time someone tried to get a clear look, even if they noticed him.

Shannon sat on Luke's back and was shielded by the barrier that prevented her from feeling the effects of their high-speed movement.

Its true form was weak, and it could not move on its own. That was why it had always relied on moving via its emerald body.

Benjamin looked at it and frowned. "Your true form hasn't recovered, so you shouldn't have forcibly gathered your soul."

"I understand. That's why I've laid down The Five Great Peaks," the Stone Turtle explained.

"I've borne them on my back for ten thousand years. If not for you, Sire, I would've collapsed beneath their weight long ago.

"Though your duty is to purify putrefaction, the mountains, rivers, and seas of the world are not yours to bear alone. You shouldn't pour all your energy into just this."

The Stone Turtle looked toward the distant sea and sensed the approaching death energy. Its cloudy gaze grew sharp and resolute.

"You're the Dragon Vein, Sire. You cannot allow putrefaction to taint you.

"Today, I entrust The Five Great Peaks to you as their new guardian. In return, let me hold the sea in your place."
