As soon as the chubby panda showed his true form, the arena erupted with gasps and exclamations.
"A panda!"
"A giant raccoon!"
There was a reason behind it. The giant panda demons, due to their rarity, had been heavily protected by Crisea in earlier years, and enlightened panda demons were similarly scarce in the demon world.
It was said that only five panda demons were officially registered in the demon registry, and among them, only one juvenile demon—Steen—was in existence.
This meant that Steen was considered a unique being within the entire demonic school. Coupled with the national treasure concept drilled into him by humans, many young demons subconsciously treated Steen as a rare specimen.
This had led Steen to avoid exercising his supernatural strength, often attempting to coast by on his reputation.
This time, though Steen transformed into his true form, he was still playing the same game. Whether demon or human, most would instinctively hold back upon seeing his panda form.
After all, his demon parents often taught him that they, as panda demons, were precious. If they were ever harmed, they could just cry and complain to the Special Security Agency.
As long as they offered themselves up to the state, the government would make sure to avenge them.
Steen, brimming with confidence and full of energy, charged at Caelan, his round panda body bouncing with determination.
Caelan, however, remained calm, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched Steen come closer, preparing for the attack.
Without a hint of panic, Caelan released his supernatural power. Two fox tails emerged from behind him, elegantly unfurling before snapping into action.
A crisp slap sounded. Just as Steen reached him, the fox tails lashed out with incredible speed and force, sending him hurtling through the air.
She had unhesitatingly released the century-old concentrated skunk spray at him. Such a ruthless woman wouldn't be swayed by his cute tricks.
If Steen wanted to get the big golden bamboo shoot, he would have to rely on himself. At that thought, he steeled himself as he shook off any lingering doubts.
His parents had always told him that despite their cuddly, innocent appearance, pandas were no strangers to ferocity and strength. In fact, their species had once been battle mounts for Chiron, a fierce and mighty warrior!
He would be unstoppable if he just tried!
Shannon had noticed Steen slacking off in the ring, so she deliberately used a golden light talisman to draw out his supernatural power by attaching it to the bamboo shoot.
After all, it was a selection, and no young demon's supernatural energy could be overlooked, especially a panda demon, the only one of its kind in the entire demonic school.
