No words could describe the deafening silence radiating from Shannon at that moment. It had been a while since she had felt this kind of overwhelming embarrassment.
As she felt the gazes of those around her turning toward her, she cleared her throat, trying to maintain an air of calm and composure. "Okay. We shall proceed."
Besides the Demon Control Agency staff on the observation platform, there were also the demon faculty. Interestingly, among the instructors were some who had been involved in suppressing the collective strike event by the young-level demons.
One couldn't hide their smile as they turned to Shannon and said, "You're still as popular as ever, Ms. Jensen."
Shannon replied with a courteous smile.
Another demon instructor let out a cold snicker. "Factions are prohibited within the school. I remember this was one of the rules when you reformed the school. How is it that you've forgotten about it?"
Before she could respond, the instructor glanced at the demon younglings with contempt. "As future members of the demon clan, it's simply disgraceful to be so easily influenced and led astray."
Although Shannon felt embarrassed by the younglings' behavior earlier, she couldn't just ignore the criticism directed at them for being disgraceful.
Turning her head, she looked at the instructor, her voice calm and indifferent. "If shouting a slogan is considered disgraceful, then I suppose you also think pre-class speeches are, too.
"You're a century-old demon instructor, not a hundred-year-old relic. Or perhaps you've heard the human saying, 'Youth is wasted without a little rebellion.'
"As future members of the demon clan, what's wrong with a little rebellion?"
Shannon's words were blunt, and seeing the demon instructor about to retort, she suddenly raised an eyebrow and seriously added, "The spirit of youthful rebellion never dies, and the fire of passion should never fade."
Due to her age, she might technically be considered a youngling in the demon world, but given her calm and composed demeanor since joining the demonic school, hearing her seriously recite such a rebellious slogan caught everyone off guard.
Even the nearby instructors couldn't help but stare, clearly baffled.
The demon instructor who had been rebuked twitched his lips, clearly irritated. He felt Shannon was intentionally trying to annoy him.
With that thought in mind, Scott was already getting pumped up. Her underlings were all cheering for her!
As her real "underling", it was only right for him to be part of the crew, too!
Without hesitation, he stood up and joined in with the cheers, raising his voice high. The sudden shout was jarring, but he didn't feel embarrassed at all.
Many people in the venue turned to look at Scott, some confused. "Which class is that puppy demon from? I've never seen him before."
"Don't know him. He doesn't look like he goes here. How did he get in?"
The young demons below were also curious, wondering where this puppy demon came from.
Scott, still unbothered by the attention, saw no one joining in. So, he called out a couple more times, even going as far as to invite the people next to him to join in.
