The frustrated Kai had nowhere to vent his feelings.

He dared not reprimand Benjamin, and all he could do was complain to his best friend, a.k.a. gaming partner—Scott.

Benjamin's awakening had not been officially announced by the Special Security Agency or any other organization. And given his current condition, Shannon hadn't informed the Jensens or the Coopers either.

For one, Benjamin had essentially severed ties with the Coopers as the head of the Cooper family after his disappearance. Plus, she didn't want to complicate matters.

Though Hector and George knew about Benjamin's identity, they might never expect the person they'd waited so long for to return yet no longer acknowledge their relationship.

Since Shannon forbade anyone from revealing the truth, Kai dared not expose it himself. So, when he vented to Scott, he emphasized this was about two new friends he'd made, whom he simply referred to as Friend A and Friend B.

After omitting the key details, he described how the two reunited and their interactions afterward. Then, he went on a long-winded rant.

By the time he finished, he finally felt a little lighter.

He thought nothing more of it and simply went to sleep, yet never in his wildest dreams did he expect things to blow up.

The next morning, he received a call from Scott, who told him they'd arrived in Jamborough.

Kai was dumbfounded because it wasn't just Scott who came, but Hector and Hank were here too! The two younger ones would've been manageable, but Hector had come as well!

Having lived next to the Jensen residence for so long, Kai was well aware of just how sharp Hector was. That guy was nothing like a normal human.

"Scott, Hector… Why are you suddenly here? Why didn't you give me a heads-up?" Kai was still trying to play it off.

But Scott wasn't having it. He walked right up to Kai and held Kai in a chokehold. "Be honest, is Ben back? Did he lose his memory and forget about Shannon?"

Kai's eyes widened. "Where did you hear that from?"

At breakfast, he casually complained about how lucky Shannon was to have never encountered such a melodramatic situation, or she'd get really sad.

But something he said must've caught Hector's attention, and the latter started bombarding questions. He immediately pinpointed the inconsistencies.

Then, recalling Maeve talking about Shannon's new neighbor, Hector became even more certain of his suspicions. To confirm them, he arranged for a private jet.

Scott and Hank had been nearby, and when they heard Hector was heading to Jamborough to find Shannon, they flat-out refused to be left behind. They even threatened to spill everything to the rest of the family.

Hector had no choice but to bring the two along.

Seeing Kai's reaction, he knew he'd been right about Benjamin coming back. But the one who'd returned wasn't quite the same person.

Hector's ever-smiling face carried a rare coldness as he asked, "Where's Benjamin? I need to see him."
