Shiloh had heard little about the rules of mystic arts. Unless there was direct karma, mystic arts items were best exchanged with a clear monetary transaction.
More importantly, Shannon had mentioned that the emerald pendant could be used by her or her family.
She didn't believe Shannon would bring up her family for no reason. If the latter had sensed someone in her family might soon face trouble and was subtly warning her, there was no way she'd refuse this offer.
In fact, Shiloh felt she should be thanking Shannon instead.
Shannon had never planned to give the emerald pendant away for free. But even with a price tag, her talismans were not something anyone could casually buy.
Ever since coming to Jamborough, she'd been juggling between attending classes at the mystic school, training at Zaprath School, and practicing her control over her supernatural powers.
It'd been a long time since she had sold any talismans to outsiders, especially such emerald pendants, which required considerable time and effort.
The only reason she offered the trade was she'd taken a liking to Shiloh and wanted to help the Olsens.
Shannon named her price. "100 thousand dollars."
100 thousand dollars was an exorbitant price for an ordinary person, but it was shockingly cheap for the Olsens.
Shiloh didn't hesitate for a second. She immediately transferred the money and carefully put the emerald pendant away.
Now that she had a protective talisman, Verus no longer felt guilty about keeping the Zenyoistone and was pleased.
Just as he turned around, his eyes met Gunner's, who was still being held down by bodyguards outside the room. The latter's expression was dark and filled with obvious resentment.
No one had interrupted their conversation in the hallway for this long, and part of it was thanks to Shiloh's arrangements.
Since this involved Verus' identity, Shiloh wouldn't make reckless claims. She knew Shannon had ways to silence Gunner, but not everything had to be solved through mystic arts.
Sometimes, money could be just as effective.
Shannon saw no need to trouble herself further since Shiloh had volunteered to handle the aftermath. She and Benjamin had spent enough time outside, and now that the situation was settled, it was time to return home.
But just as they were about to leave, another hiccup occurred. They ran into the director of the entertainment show Verus and Gunner were supposed to shoot today.
It was a show Shiloh had secured as a favor to Gunner. Now that she knew he'd deceived her from the start, she decided to withdraw the offer and cancel Gunner's scheduled recording.
