The next day, an announcement spread across the west wing. "We have a new demon instructor! Apparently, he has an amazing scent."
"For once, can you guys stop obsessing over someone's scent? It's because of this that humans often think we're strange."
"No, they're right. He smelled really good. I can testify to it."
"I wonder which class he teaches. I want to have a sniff as well!"
The chatters of the demon younglings were heard by Kai, whose expression was one of utter discouragement. "And I thought he was going to be a student here. An instructor?"
How lame.
Shannon wasn't as disappointed as he was. In fact, she had even anticipated it.
"Considering his identity and age, it's unlikely for him to pretend to be a student. Besides, he has a more flexible schedule as an instructor."
What surprised her wasn't his entry as an instructor but his appearance as one. At that thought, the man appeared before her.
In the special demon class, Shannon gazed at Benjamin, who was dressed casually and wearing frameless glasses. Though she still couldn't see his full face, it was enough to intrigue her.
She listened as his voice, deep and emotionless, rang out while he introduced himself. "My name's Ben Cooper, the new instructor here for the Special Demon Class. I teach Demon History in both the west and east wings."
Hearing the content of his lecture, the special demon class students, except for Bianca and Cornelius, all expressed utter despair.
The girl in the back row, also wearing glasses, Melon Underwood, sighed. "What a young, good-looking instructor. But why would he choose to teach a subject as boring as Demon History?"
Grim, the poison ivy, despite looking all polite and harmless, was actually more cunning and vicious in a fight than he was.
Grim gave a soft snort but didn't say anything more. Shannon thought the topic was over, but to her surprise, Denim circled back around and once again turned to Benjamin, asking, "So, what kind are you, Mr. Cooper?"
At that, Benjamin casually responded with his standardized answer. "A tree demon."
Denim snickered. "I knew it!"
A tree demon? How weak! No wonder he taught history.
Benjamin's identity as an instructor was merely a cover, and he had little interest in getting caught up in trivial matters with the students.
