Shannon knew that except for major demon clans like the Wynthorpe family, most demons weren't as particular about their last names as humans were.
Take Fennec for example, the fox clan had chosen their last name Marblemaw as it reminded them of fox paws. As long as they liked it, that was all that mattered.
So, when she saw the name Xylon had chosen for Rylan, Shannon could only agree that it sounded okay as long as they were happy.
Rylan appeared five or six years old, and his chubby little face was covered in baby fat. He looked round, plump, and utterly adorable. But Shannon wouldn't believe this little guy was just five or six.
Sure enough, Rylan lifted his head and squinted at her for a moment. Then, he nodded with an exaggeratedly mature expression.
"So, you're the quarter-demon youngling my brother mentioned? You don't look that small, but that's okay. I'm your big brother, and no one will pick on you with me around."
With that, he waved his hand in a grand, boss-like manner. He was radiating authority.
But Xylon smacked him on the head. "I told you, she's not an ordinary quarter-demon. Behave yourself."
Now rubbing his head, Rylan puffed up his cheeks in protest. He could only grumble silently under the overwhelming pressure of his older brother.
Xylon instructed Rylan to take Shannon to their class. Then, he turned to Shannon and said, "I've spoken to the teacher. You can go in ahead of time.
"Mr. Wright mentioned if you ever run into trouble you can't handle and get bullied, you can ask him for help."
That was Reuben's exact wording, but it honestly sounded more like he was waiting to watch a good show.
Shannon had zero intention of asking him for help. She wasn't a little kid in school who needed to run to her parents whenever she got bullied.
As Xylon was about to leave, Shannon suddenly thought of something and asked, "Were students who competed in the college tournament from the special demon class?"
Xylon looked at her with an expression that screamed, "I knew you were interested in the special demon class!" Still, he honestly answered, "They were senior demons aside from Cornelius."
According to Scott, he barely even logged into games anymore.
Shannon wondered if she should bring him over and enroll him in school. If he got busy, he might not have time to be sad.
As she pondered, she followed Rylan to his elementary class. The class hadn't started yet, but several demon younglings were sitting inside.
Students had to be able to take on a human form to attend the demonic school, at least partially.
But this was the elementary class for young demons, so unlike Rylan, many hadn't fully transformed. Most retained their demon traits just like how Kai had a pair of horns when she'd first met him.
Shannon scanned the class and saw a group of tiny figures. Some were human-looking, while others had cat ears, wolf tails, or other demonic features.
For some reason, it felt like she'd accidentally wandered into a kindergarten with a cosplay event featuring animals in the zoo. It was kind of adorable.
