Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1596

Seeing another woman in a fiancé's dream after he went missing could've been the start of a soapy, sad story, but when Shannon gazed at the woman before her, there was no trace of rejection.

Instead, she felt that the woman's existence had a subtle sense of inevitability as if it were only natural.

More importantly, those nine tails…

She had heard about the nine-tailed fox from Thalia, for in their lineage, their ancestors were descendants of the nine-tailed Fox.

However, over the past thousand years, only three individuals in their clan had transformed into a nine-tailed fox. One of them was Reuben.

That was how he became the chief of the Demon Control Agency and remained untouchable for years. Could this nine-tailed fox before her be one of the three?

Shannon couldn't see her face, considering she had her back against her. That said, she had a feeling that Benjamin would reappear once she found out the identity of the nine-tailed fox.

She tried to move closer to get a better look at the figure, but suddenly, mist enveloped her vision. The next moment, her consciousness was forcefully pulled back.

Due to the strong expulsion of this part of the dream, she couldn't see another long tail swaying behind the woman within the thick mist.

Shannon's eyes snapped open, and as her spiritual energy drained, the Dreambeast, which had been floating suspended in mid-air, suddenly dropped with a thud to the ground.

The Mini Stone Turtle, not sure when it had returned to Shannon's side, saw her standing still as though she had lost consciousness.

It hurriedly moved closer, and just as it was getting anxious, she finally regained her senses, gasping and awakening.

The Mini Stone Turtle was unsure what had happened, but it knew it had everything to do with the Dreambeast.

Hector had heard about how those close to Benjamin always kept a box of mint candies, so he decided to try them for himself, just out of curiosity. He had only had a couple, though, and it had been a long time since he had eaten one.

Despite Hector's voice being as calm and his smile unchanged as usual, there was an unspoken melancholy in the air.

For some reason, Shannon felt it, too—a quiet sorrow that lingered beneath his composure.

Why was that, though? Was it because of Benjamin?

Right—they were best friends, after all.

At that thought, Shannon wore a serious expression and said, "He'll be back, Hector."

Hector froze slightly, feeling a pang in his heart when meeting her solemn gaze. She should be in a deeper grief than him, yet she was comforting him instead.
