Somehow, Zidane had known Shannon wouldn't reject him. He rose with a smile, his movement elegant as he rolled up his cuffs. As if struck by a thought, he snapped his fingers toward the void.
"Come here, Skelldom."
A distortion in space appeared before them, followed by what seemed to be a contract materializing out of thin air.
Was this to make sure she wouldn't back out?
Shannon didn't hesitate either. Her eyes quickly scanned the contract, and then, gathering a bit of spiritual energy at her fingertip, she pressed it into the air.
It was like leaving a fingerprint—her spiritual energy now marked the contract, a personal seal unique to her.
The contract was now in effect. However, the document in the void didn't vanish; it continued to float in front of her.
She looked at Zidane before hearing his magnetic voice, seemingly coaxing her.
"I heard you've awakened your supernatural power. Why don't you use it and make another seal? Double the seal, double the protection."
"I knew he was up to something," Shannon mused.
She had heard that Mystic had trouble liaising with the Demon Control Agency. Now that they knew she had joined the agency and awakened supernatural powers, they wanted her to act as a middleman to help expand the demon sector for spiritual affairs.
Sure enough, Zidane never made a deal where he didn't come out on top.
Since the deal had been made, Shannon didn't try to wiggle her way out of it but used her supernatural strength to stamp her seal on the contract, which was now officially in effect.
"Now, can you fulfill your end of the bargain?"
Having hired a new, capable employee, Zidane was full of smiles, his handsome yet otherworldly face became even more mesmerizing, exuding an almost enchanting allure.
She had felt that the appearance of the ghost building was too sudden.
It had been exposed online recently, and then the production team suddenly changed the show's planning. Not long after filming began, the ghost building appeared and took away Olivia and Eddie.
They had suspected the ghost building would show up on foggy, rainy days, and almost right after they had summoned the rain, it appeared again.
When considering Zidane's role as the mysterious boss, it was hard not to suspect that the appearance of the ghost building had been intentionally orchestrated by him. What was even more telling was that he seemed like the kind of person who could pull off something like that.
The room left Shannon's question unresponded, but she could vividly feel the Skelldom's presence. Thus, she stated, "I know you're there, Skelldom."
The Skelldom still hadn't responded, but the next moment, the once darkened, massive display screen in the room flickered to life and once again showed the livestream.
It seemed the Skelldom had lifted the power that had been blocking her personal camera feed. That could be considered a response of sorts, right?
