Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1529

Besides the ghost gates across from the workstations that had been used for passage, there were also special gates inside the building for extradition purposes.

These gates had been further divided into those for guiding new souls, those for guiding evil spirits, and so on. Each ghost gate corresponded to a different entrance to the underworld.

It would be fine so long as Eddie was hiding inside the building, but if he had accidentally walked into a ghost gate…

Hearing about the possibility, Olivia lost her mood to finish her milkshake and became anxious. "Why would he run away with just anyone?"

Even a child would know not to follow a stranger when lost—take her, for example. That said, they had to ensure Eddie's safety first.

Shannon glanced at the building and suddenly asked, "Since the building of your headquarters has been enlightened and become the Skelldom, can it sense the location of intruders?"

Neville shook his head. "Although the Skelldom has come to life, its senses are rather weak and…"

He paused and continued, "It only listens to the boss."

None of the employees at headquarters, including him, could communicate directly with the Skelldom. What he didn't mention was that if Eddie accidentally entered a ghost gate and went to the underworld, the only way to retrieve him would be for their boss to intervene.

Shannon asked, "So, who's your boss? Is he in the building?"

"Our boss never meets with the outsiders. He's…" Neville's words were interrupted by a commotion nearby.

It turned out that the room where a batch of new souls was being stored had somehow been opened again. The souls, who were waiting to be escorted to the underworld, had all escaped!

"What's going on? Hurry up and capture the new souls!" Neville chided, soon gathering a bunch of Mystic employees specifically responsible for the guiding service.

The former furrowed her brows, ready to run after the latter, but Neville chimed in. "Don't worry. Without the Skelldom letting her pass, she can never leave this building."

However, his words didn't assure Shannon.

Maya could manipulate the eerie black smoke that every member of the Black Smoke Organization possessed. Shannon still hadn't fully analyzed the composition of the black smoke, so she couldn't possibly let Maya escape.

Not to mention, this building even housed various ghost gates that led to the underworld.

Shannon left Olivia to Neville's watch and said, "Watch her for me," before bolting. She didn't care when Neville reminded her, "Without the boss' permission, no one in the building is allowed to run."

Whatever rule it was, it only applied to the Mystic employees, which she wasn't.
