Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1253

"Mister, I-I…"

As the footsteps grew closer, Heston reappeared just as Cassidy was going to escape on her own. He reached out and grabbed her to tuck her under his arm.

Once again, they vanished in a flash.

Daniela and the police officers came up empty-handed. They searched the area thoroughly and couldn't find her, so they had no choice but to walk away disappointed.

Not long after Daniela and the police left, Shannon and Benjamin arrived on the scene. As soon as they stepped into the alley, the tiny zombie doll in Shannon's arms pointed in another direction.

Shannon knew that they were one step late again. The Unmelting Bone had fled once more. "Why does he run so fast…" she muttered.

It was no wonder the Special Security Agency had spent over a week chasing him down and failed to catch even a glimpse of his shadow. The Unmelting Bone was practically toying with his pursuers now that he could teleport.

Benjamin noticed her rare look of frustration and tried to sense the Unmelting Bone's presence. But just as his golden light began to spread in a particular direction, Shannon smacked his hand and pulled it back.

She turned to him, and his eyes filled with disapproval. "Don't you know how weak your golden light is right now? You didn't use it recklessly, did you?"

Shannon suspected the noticeable decrease in his golden energy during their last two encounters had been due to his careless overuse.

Benjamin met her gaze and helplessly pressed his lips. "I wasn't using it recklessly," he softly protested.

Shannon reluctantly believed him after seeing the sincerity in his expression. She casually stuffed the golden energy into him and said, "We've got this doll, so there's no need for you right now. If he runs, he runs. We'll just track him down again."

If she didn't think of him as the Unmelting Bone but rather as a heroic lone soul with a lingering attachment to the world, Shannon had a faint idea of what he'd been watching.

He wasn't watching a specific person. Instead, he was looking at the bustling, thriving human world.

The realization sent Shannon's heart trembling slightly. She turned to Benjamin with a plan forming in her mind.

Benjamin met her eyes and asked, "Go ahead. What's your plan?"

"I heard New Year parades are held annually in Arenvale." Though it wasn't the New Year yet, perhaps they could arrange an early parade rehearsal.

If the Unmelting Bone wanted to see the flourishing human world, why not give him a glimpse of it in advance?
