Five talismans flew forth and embedded themselves in the bodies of the five advancing ghouls. They froze, and their movements halted completely.

Mike fell to his knees as he turned in Shannon's direction. He cried out, "Shannon! The Unmelting Bone went after Lexie!"

Shannon's pupils constricted sharply.
