Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1184

The villagers, resembling the walking dead, were deathly pale with veins bulging under their skin. Their pitch-black pupils fixed on Shannon and the others as if they were eyeing a delicious meal, hungry and unblinking.

The group, alongside Reginald, were stunned in place until Shannon's frantic shout pierced the air. "Run!"

Almost immediately, everyone sprang into action as if by reflex. They simultaneously turned and sprinted toward the village entrance, urgency fueling their every step.

The villagers behind seemingly detected the scent of something that drove them into a frenzy. Their faces twisted in unnatural contortions as they let out guttural growls, charging toward the group with maddened determination.

"Lexie!" Shannon urgently called out, prompting Lexie to pull a talisman at the same time as her. "O' heaven and earth, come in control; spirits and all, and none shall flee… Bind!"

"Three souls to the left, seven spirits to the right; unseen in motion, unheard in stillness… Heed my command!"

A talisman and talismanic paper figure flew out simultaneously, and Shannon's mystic chain immediately bound the three villagers at the very front.

Lexie's paper figure stuck to the guidewoman. With a twist of her fingers, the woman, who was about to pounce on her, suddenly veered and lunged at other villagers, forcibly blocking several ahead.

As Shannon and her group raced toward the cars at the village entrance, an invisible barrier suddenly appeared in front of them, stopping them in their tracks.

Without hesitation, she pulled out her hazelwood sword and struck at the barrier, which subsequently shattered and released a wave of black smoke that rushed toward them.

Skylar, on the other hand, timely used a talisman to ward off the black smoke. Seeing the oncoming villagers—confirmed as ghouls at that point—charging and growling at them, he swiftly instructed everyone to run into the village.

The group instinctively split into two, running in different directions. The ghouls, seeing this, immediately divided into two groups and pursued them.

Shannon led Reginald and Lexie, while Edward led Skylar, Elliot, and Celine.

While escaping, Shannon passed a talisman to Lexie. The latter quickly understood the situation. In a swift motion, the two moved to either side, firmly holding onto Reginald in the middle.

"I don't think we can." Shannon took out her phone and saw her phone signal had been disrupted.

"We still have a surveillance talisman!" Lexie recalled Baxter's words before the start of the tournament and decisively removed the talisman from the brooch.

"Our lecturers said that as long as we run into danger, we can shred the talisman into pieces, and they'll come to rescue us." While speaking, she tore her surveillance talisman into shreds.

However, the talisman showed no signs of spiritual power, almost as if it were just a piece of paper. Shannon's expression darkened.

Just as she had feared—the person behind creating the ghoul village had not only severed their connection to the outside world but also cut off all spiritual energy links.

It had to be some form of barrier array at the village entrance that blocked them.

Stunned, Lexie couldn't help but scream, "Who the heck is behind all this? They managed to turn so many lives into ghouls and cut off all connections to the outside world!"
