Shannon glanced at Edward as a sign to receive his approval. He pondered briefly before stating, "We're in a rush. So, we won't be heading to the city. Let's go to the village now, and we'll find refuge there."
Perhaps because of the increasing proximity to the malevolent being, they began to detect its energy much more vividly. It was obvious Edward didn't want to waste time, and neither did the rest of the group.
At that, the person said, "If you'd like to head straight to Stonebrook Village, we've also provided accommodation for you guys there. Also, I also got in touch with a man who deals with mountain goods locally.
"He frequently travels around the surrounding areas and is very familiar with the mountains and villages. If you need to go to any remote locations, you can ask him to guide you."
Edward's eyes lit up at that point. What a great assistance. With a local resident leading them, it would be much more convenient and easy.
He couldn't help but look at Shannon gently. He didn't think it would be unfair to other teams to receive special assistance, as seeking the missing martyr's body was the priority.
Lexie and the others were calm. Had Mike been here, he would've said, "It sure is nice being wealthy."
Hector had arranged two off-road vehicles for the group so it would be convenient for them to travel elsewhere, perfectly fitting the group of six and two drivers. Without further ado, they set out to Stonebrook Village.
Unbeknownst to them, a person swiftly exited the station not long after they left. That person was none other than Maya.
She darted straight to the rental car area, entered one of the vehicles, and instructed the driver, "To Stonebrook Village."
The driver was taken by surprise. "There's a shuttle bus that can take you straight to Stonebrook Village. It would be costly to take the cab."
No matter what, she had to prove herself to be better than Shannon and Skylar! And now, the opportunity had arrived.
Although this was the third match of the tournament in name, it was actually a mission to help the Special Security Agency recover the missing corpses. In a way, her involvement shouldn't be deemed as disrupting the match.
Thinking about it—even if the schools found out, she could just claim to want to contribute her efforts toward the martyr who had bravely sacrificed himself. There was no way the schools would condemn her.
Therefore, this trip was inevitable.
Did Shannon and Skylar think they could step on her to build their reputation and easily win the final match? Well, it wouldn't be that easy!
