Shannon's voice was steady, and her tone was serious. Caleb was still wondering what she was up to when Hank felt a chill run down his spine. Caleb didn't know what had happened, but Hank had experienced Shannon's abilities himself.
That, coupled with Shannon's promise to have Caleb use his money as soon as possible, clearly pointed to Caleb experiencing something mystical soon!
Hank couldn't help giving Caleb a pitying look. He deserved it for acting like a smartass with Shannon. At the same time, he couldn't help feeling glad that he hadn't said a word because of the bet.
Caleb's expression turned ugly when he saw the pitying look in Hank's eyes. He'd already realized what Shannon meant, but he thought Shannon was just trying to scare him. "Stop using your so-called mystic arts to scare us, Shannon. I don't buy it."
"Whatever." Shannon shot him a look. She couldn't be bothered to waste her breath on him and turned to head to the dining room.
When she was almost done with breakfast, Scott came downstairs blearily. He didn't even spare the people in the living room a glance as he headed straight to the dining room. He snapped out of his bleariness when he saw Shannon there.
He ran over to her excitedly and started singing her praises about her silencing talisman. Last night, he'd turned the volume up and gamed until 3:00 am, yet no one had heard a thing and urged him to go to bed.
Shannon looked at his dark circles and secretly decided to set more restrictions when selling talismans to minors. Scott could get himself into trouble with her talismans. She didn't say anything to stop him, though, and merely continued eating her cereal.
Scott didn't feel miffed. He asked, "Are you going out today, Shannon? Do you have any plans?"
It had felt great to "uphold justice" with her. He wanted to do it again.
Their uniforms were all-black, from their clothes to the caps and masks they wore. Rather than looking like delivery guys, they looked more like the members of a secret organization.
Shannon stepped forward and showed them her phone, seemingly verifying her identity. Then, the three delivery guys each hoisted a box that was half their height and followed Shannon upstairs, their footsteps light.
Scott followed them immediately. He watched the delivery guys enter Shannon's room and was about to join them when Shannon stopped before him and shut the door in his face.
He stood there in disbelief. Did she have to be so mysterious over a simple parcel delivery? She'd even stopped him from looking! Wasn't he her favorite cousin?
