Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1140

The Jamboroughians acknowledged their inability to beat Shannon, and they didn't want to experience the same toasted fate as Maya. Of course, they would be too reluctant to leave just like that.

Rowan suggested, "We won't fight over the bottles, but there's no point in having an extra ghost bottle for you guys, is there? Why don't you give us the other one?"

He paused and then added, "Let's hear your conditions."

Before Shannon could answer, Mike poked his head out and replied, "Does that include monetary offers?"

Rowan was slightly taken aback by his response but quickly agreed. "Of course."

Mike became invested at that point. "And how much will you offer us?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, he was elbowed by Lexie. Both Shannon and Skylar shot him a look of complete disbelief.

Mike quickly snapped back to reality, realizing his slip-up, and immediately corrected himself, declaring with righteous indignation, "You think we'll sell out for money? This is a prestigious college tournament, not a flea market!"

"I thought you were the one who brought up money first…" Rowan thought. Despite his bafflement, he knew the decision-maker in their team was Shannon. Thus, he turned to the online-famous newcomer.

"Why don't you name your price, Shannon?"

Instead of answering him, Shannon jerked her chin at Skylar beside her. "Don't ask me; ask him. Skylar is our senior, and he'll be the one to decide your team's fate."

Skylar was surprised by Shannon's words. He reflexively glanced at her but soon understood her intention, thinking, "Ah. Because of Maya."

No matter what condition was offered, giving the ghost bottle to the Jamboroughians would essentially mean giving it to Maya.

Everyone knew about the "grudge" between Skylar and Maya, so whether or not to give it to her should be his decision.

As soon as Shannon spoke, the others immediately echoed her sentiment. Skylar's heart warmed unexpectedly.

When he turned his gaze back to the fallen Maya, his expression grew somber. During their brief eye contact, she was the first to break it. "You might as well forget about it. I won't beg you."

Shannon was subtly surprised by his ultimatum, clearly in agreement with him.

"You—" Maya was filled with resentment, wanting to condemn Skylar for such disgraceful behavior.

However, she was also worried that the teammates behind her might actually agree to his terms. After all, not everyone among the six people was fully loyal to her.

Before she could speak, Rowan interrupted her and told Skylar, "Sorry, but we can't agree to that."

Despite disagreeing with many of Maya's actions, they were still a team in this tournament at the end of the day; they were the representatives of the Jamborough School.

In fact, he could watch Maya getting disqualified from the tournament by the judges for malicious harm, but he wouldn't kick her out of the team directly.

If they agreed to the deal, it would turn the Jamboroughians into a laughingstock in front of everyone in the mystic arts community.
