On a winter in December, Shannon and her group set off. Serene Crest welcomed its first snowfall of the season on this day.
Clouds swirled around the snow-capped peaks. Shannon casually took a picture and posted it on Instagram.
After some thought, she uploaded the same picture on her Twitter account, which she'd nearly forgotten the password to.
During the half-hour she'd taken to return from the peak to the newcomers' dorm, her social media accounts were flooded with likes and comments.
First were her Twitter followers who she'd neglected since Sixth Sense ended.
"Shannon! You finally remembered you had a Twitter account!"
"I've felt like an abandoned child ever since Sixth Sense ended!"
"Holy crap! Where is this? It's so breathtaking I need to go take pictures!"
"Don't even think about it. This is probably a mystic-school-exclusive snowy view."
"Everyone's free to embrace mystic arts, so why can't they admit one more cutie like me?"
Compared to Twitter, reactions on Instagram were calmer.
Clara: "It's first snow. Have some fried chicken."
Scott: "Your photography skills have improved!"
Yvette: "Which mountain is this? Is it developable?"
Hector: "Beautiful. Remember to stay warm in the cold."
Adam: "It's cold in the mountains. Wear more layers. Don't forget the custom winter coat Annalise got you."
Lexie burst into laughter and nodded. "That's fair."
At the foot of the mountain, the bustling scene was a stark contrast to a few months ago. The food street the Jensen family had funded for Shannon was now completed.
Food shops stretched along the long street and offered delicacies from all over the world. These days, students from the mystic school often came down the mountain to have their meals which led to a decline in the cafeteria's business.
The cafeteria staff were so frustrated that they threw a fit and locked the cafeteria doors for days. In the end, Albern himself had to step in and persuade them to reopen.
…
The group boarded the luxury bus waiting at the foot of the mountain. It was arranged by the Jensen family, but not just for Shannon's sake.
When Adam had negotiated with the university to allocate land for the food street, he'd promised to sponsor all external expenses. That included transportation.
