Caleb let out a fit of violent coughs, occasionally gagging. For once, Scott appeared remorseful and patted his brother's back lightly.
…
Due to that abrupt incident, Scott no longer had the mood to introduce his "masterpiece". He and the boys even had the tendency to refurbish the entire apartment again after learning a mini demon had lived here.
Shannon, however, didn't mind it. Instead, she decided to stay there temporarily. It piqued her curiosity as to where that mini demon came from.
Scott and the others were equally curious. "What was that thing earlier? It looked weird."
It resembled a flying squirrel, but it was larger in size. Not only did it have big ears, but its tail also spanned longer than its body.
Looking at the strands of fur wrapped by the talisman, Shannon stated, "It's probably a Fenris jerboa."
Fenris jerboa, a mythical creature recorded in the Tale of Mountains and Seas, was something she never expected to encounter in the modern world.
After all, Fenris jerboas were natural, born demonic beasts, vastly different from rat demons, who gained intelligence over time.
These creatures were born with innate magical power, and unlike ordinary animals, they rarely appeared before humans, never mind occupying their territory…
However, recalling the jungle-themed room Scott had carefully prepared for Marshmallow, Shannon somewhat understood why the demon chose her place. She wondered if it would return, and her instincts told her yes.
Scott and the others had never heard about a Fenris jerboa. All they knew was that it was a demon.
The group became concerned when they heard Shannon planned to stay there. After learning the mini demon might return, Zane typed out a few words. "Are you sure you're fine alone?"
"I'll be fine." Things would be manageable.
She grabbed another box of exquisite chocolate and remarked, "This is the imported bespoke chocolate Mr. Scott brought in, huh? We're discarding this, too?"
Thomas glanced at the packaging and said, "This one is fine. It's just that Ms. Shannon isn't a fan of chocolate. She didn't want her pet fox to ingest it by accident, so we took it back.
"But I think the young lads in this house won't touch it. You guys can share it among yourselves."
At that, the maid was delighted. That was one of the perks of working at the Jensen residence.
Thinking she could bring this expensive box of chocolates home for her kids, she placed it on a mini table on the side and continued tidying up the items with others.
Sometime later, Eva walked in and scanned the hall. Her gaze suddenly landed on the box of chocolate on the table. Her eyes lit up before she grabbed the box and darted upstairs.
The household was never short of junk food, but she had been restricted from indulging in them.
