Hearing Valeria’s words, a smile spread across Agnes' face, and she decided not to elaborate.
When Agnes returned to Jared's office, Jared had just finished eating.
Agnes was slightly startled, "You actually finished all the food."
Indeed, Jared had cleared his plate. He even finished the last drop of the clam chowder.
Agnes approached him, "Aren't you full?" She remembered making a considerable amount.
Jared replied, "If my wife cooks, of course, I can't waste it."
Agnes didn't expect Jared to be so endearingly silly.
Jared changed the subject, "What did Valeria chat with you about?"
Agnes teased, "Ms. Thomas said she has a crush on you, she wants to compete fairly with me."
Jared laughed off, totally unbothered, "Impossible, I think she said the exact opposite. She probably explained to you again because she didn't want you to misunderstand."
Jared knew Valeria quite well.
Agnes chuckled, "Yes." Then she sat down and asked seriously, "I've always wanted to ask you something."
Jared gave her a look, "What is it?"
"Why don't you like Valeria? She's so outstanding. You have so many interactions through business, you work together. Hasn't any spark of love ignited?"
Jared snorted coldly, "Agnes, do you know that because you left without saying goodbye, you destroyed my perception of love? For these four years, all I thought about was how I would find you and torture you, returning the pain you gave me tenfold."
Agnes grinned, "Then why haven't you tortured me now?"
Jared sighed, seemingly powerless, "I can't bear it."
Alyssa's gaze flickered, "Dad, Jared and her will be back soon."
Tim's voice was cold and ruthless, "I won't let that woman in. If Jared really wants to remarry her, tell him to never come back."
Alyssa approached, "Dad, let it go. Don't you really like that child? If they really get together, you can see that child often."
Tim's face changed, "Who said I like that child, I will not admit it."
"What is the photo in your hand?"
Tim claimed, "This is a photo of Jared when he was a child, not that kid."
Alyssa walked over, stood beside Tim, and took the photo from his hand, "This is clearly a photo of that child. Last time, you refused to see the child and asked the butler to secretly take a picture."
Finally, Tim exhaled, "I just think that child looks adorable, but I don't really like him."
