Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared) novel Chapter 689

Agnes struggled to sit up.

Jared immediately caught her in his arms, "You really scared me to death."

Agnes heard the panic and relief in Jared's voice, but she was clueless as to what had happened.

She tried hard to recall. Suddenly, the menacing face of Hammer came to mind.

Agnes quickly realized, "It was Hammer, Hammer tried to kill me."

Jared released Agnes, saying, "Don't worry, Hammer has been arrested. He confessed to all his crimes. Beatrice was the one who wanted you dead."

Agnes felt a chill run down her spine.

Beatrice, why Beatrice again! Agnes felt a throbbing headache. Her fingers clenched.

Agnes gritted her teeth, "Four years ago, she tried to run me over with her car. She didn't succeed then, isn't she satisfied till now? How can she be so cruel? Regardless, we share the same blood. How could she repeatedly try to kill me?"

Jared's eyebrows furrowed.

Jared's voice was cold, "What do you mean she tried to run you over four years ago?"

Agnes felt weak and decided to tell him everything.

"That night, after our big fight at Maplewood Manor, I intended to go back to the villa, but a car suddenly came at me. The person in the car was Beatrice. If it wasn't for the person who saved me, I might have died."

Jared remembered that night.

Now, Jared finally understood, it was because Beatrice saw Agnes' pregnancy test, and she decided to kill Agnes.

What a vicious mind.

Jared asked, "So, your sudden disappearance was because of this?"

Agnes seemed a bit lost, "Back then, I was really desperate. My father passed away, my mother was wronged, and we just divorced when I found out I was pregnant."

Agnes smirked, "All the bad things happened to me at once."

Jared said, "You should have told me."

Agnes shook her head, continuing, "Beatrice's attempt to kill me was a fatal blow. I knew she hated me since childhood, but I always considered her my sister. I forgave her many times for being capricious and ignorant because of our father. But she wanted me dead. I still remember the moment she drove her car towards me, that brutal and ferocious look, at that moment, I felt all the feelings in this world were fake. Love, affection, it's all ridiculous. So, I decided to leave, to leave this place forever."
