Chapter 1276: Buddy ’Ol Pal

"TIERE!"

The screams of the C-tier reverberated, but Sylas didn’t even look up. He knew that Old Brama would handle it. Instead, he was silently collecting something, while his thoughts roamed.

Powerful.

This woman was surely that.

He seemed to use his Rune Mastery less in this battle than he would otherwise, but that was because he had a much harder time finding space and the timing to do so—as ironic as that was.

It almost felt like a spar between masters; he could see Tiere’s counters coming before they did, his Luck alerting him to them and forcing him to pivot.

In the end, he had to use this far more scheming-like approach to end the battle quickly. Otherwise, it would have gone on for quite a while and more variables would crop up.

And most importantly of all... this was an F-tier existence, not an E-tier like he had grown quite used to slaughtering.

Of course, Tiere was already a Level 50 and already in the process of building her F-Grade Foundation, something that Sylas had yet to begin. Due to that, while they were both Level 50, Tiere was still technically leagues beyond him in terms of raw foundation, especially since she was a mutated member of a C-Grade Race.

But even so, it was a wake-up call.

If others knew that Sylas considered a battle he ended within a few minutes to be a wake-up call, it would be a wonder what they would think. But much the same as he always said... Sylas measured his achievements by himself alone. He didn’t care very much to compare to others.

He had too many advantages to be struggling against a character like Tiere. He still had a lot to learn.

Luckily, he could feel that his system wasn’t too far away from finally finishing its integration. Something seemed to have sped it up.

At first, he thought he would have to wait until Earth had fully integrated, but it seemed he wouldn’t have to.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Sylas cast a glance up before he went to help Jala and Alex to their feet. They looked like they had been through a world war of their own just trying to survive.

"Was she an E-tier too?" Jala asked almost a bit too softly, as though he already knew the answer.

"No."

Jala sighed.

Although Sylas had dispatched her easily, he could see that he had "struggled" with her more than many of the E-tiers Jala had seen him fight. The world was far larger than he knew.

BANG!

A pair of bodies fell from the air in a heavy, pile-driving motion, a pair of jet-fueled engines attached to their bodies as though helping them to fly, when in reality, they were doing anything but.

They smashed against the hull of the starship and all of the bones in their bodies were crumbled to ash, their inner organs turning to mush.

The rage and fury in the eyes of the two C-tiers could only fade along with their wills.

The jet engines attached to their bodies unwrapped their metallic tentacles and rushed back up to Old Brama, vanishing into his robes as he brushed down his robes and slicked back his sparse white hair.
