From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent (Anthea ) novel Chapter 505

MistyWorld: [Raine, I support you! And YR too! Cheering for you both!]

The forum instantly exploded with heated debate.

Apart from members of the Phoenix family, everyone else seemed to be waiting for Anthea to make a fool of herself.

At the Tech Summit Global.

Mason strolled over, grinning as he wedged himself between Anthea and Rebecca. He leaned toward Anthea and said, “I figured you might know YR, so I made sure your seats were together. Makes it easier for you two to catch up.”

It was almost laughable, really.

Most people had assumed the two were either father and daughter, or maybe even grandfather and granddaughter…

No one expected them to actually be friends.

Definitely not sisters, though.

Because, honestly, their looks weren’t even on the same playing field.

Rebecca glanced up at Mason and noticed the “Team A Research Department” badge pinned to his chest. She forced herself to speak, though her voice trembled. “She… She’s Phoenix—YC?”

Mason nodded, oblivious to her distress. “Of course! You mean you don’t know Boss YC?”

Boom.

Rebecca’s mind went completely blank.

It was true.

Anthea really was Phoenix—YC.

And when she remembered that the invitation she’d received had come from Anthea…

Rebecca suddenly found it hard to breathe.

She wanted nothing more than to find a hole and crawl into it.

Humiliation burned in her chest.

God, this was excruciating.

Which meant, back when someone was investigating her, it might have been Anthea as well.

Why would Anthea do that?

Was it just to humiliate her?

What a bitch.

Anthea was a bitch, through and through.

“Miss Re, it’s been a while.” Anthea offered her hand with a dazzling, almost mocking smile.

Rebecca accepted it, forcing a brittle grin. Even as Anthea’s lips curled upward, Rebecca could see the scorn flickering in her eyes.

Thinking about the upcoming competition, he could barely contain his excitement.

The three Pellonian legends always acted superior toward Luxphinia.

For more than a decade, Luxphinia had been trampled under their feet—eternally stuck at fourth place, never once breaking into the top three.

Karl strode forward, giving Anthea a dismissive look. “I heard from Dr. Varn that Luxphinia brought in some fresh blood this year. I suppose this young lady must have made some important contribution to your field?”

Anthea lifted her chin, her eyes glinting with quiet amusement. “I wouldn’t say anything major. Just a few small contributions, that’s all.”

Her poise was unshakable—she carried herself with all the dignity of a world-class leader.

Karl narrowed his eyes, glancing down at the nameplate on Anthea’s table. “So you’re Phoenix—YC?”

“I am,” she replied.

Karl saw that name nearly every day on the tech forums—a legend who had risen to fame overnight, a powerhouse by any standard.

But according to his own research, Phoenix—YC was nothing more than a front for a thousand-person team, not a real individual at all.

The sneer on his face only grew. And this fraud had the nerve to show up at Tech Summit Global?

“I see your name all over the tech forums,” Karl said, eyes locked on Anthea. “I wonder if I’ll have the honor of competing against you tonight?”

“Of course,” Anthea answered with a nod.

As soon as she spoke, the atmosphere shifted.
