Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1828

She let out a soft chuckle, saying, "Sure, let's drink till we drop. I heard the Kidd family just landed a deal with the Woods family. It seems your Kidd family really has an eye for the future."

They exchanged knowing glances and headed to the restroom. When they came out, the other girls were already gone.

The two who'd left shared a secretive look, both seeing the same realization in each other's eyes. With Amy being so unreliable, they'd have to look elsewhere—maybe the Kidd family was their best bet.

If they could win the Kidd family's support, it might help their own families weather the rough business climate.

After Fiona and Jackson left with their group, they waited for their ride near the entrance of Golden Times. Jane, with her eagle eyes, spotted two of the girls who'd arrived with Amy earlier, now arguing and parting ways with her.

"If you can't give us a straight answer, we won't push. Everyone's busy; we don't have time to stick around and wait for you."

"Exactly. We've been friends for ages, yet you won't even help us out. At least Fiona stepped up for Jane. It seems you don't need us anymore. Let's just cut ties from here."

One of Amy's friends stepped in front of her, frowning. "What's going on? Why are you saying all this? Aren't we all good friends? Besides, if Fiona helps, it's a favor, not something she owes us. She can't decide for the whole Gregory family. It's not fair to hold it against her."

When relationships are built on convenience and power, they'll eventually crumble for the same reasons.

Amy was baffled, her brows furrowed, a little puzzled. Seeing their attitude, she didn't bother trying to stop them.
