Chapter 93
Kyle rattled off his “order” at lightning speed, as if I really were their family’s dedicated chef.
I raised an eyebrow slightly, suppressing the urge to roll my eyes. “Are you here to order from a restaurant?TM
“Isn’t this what you’re supposed to do?”
Kyle looked at me with a pair of delicate but mean eyes. “During family gatherings before, weren’t you always helping out in the kitchen? My mom said you were quite diligent then.”
I laughed coldly. What he called “helping out” was clearly me volunteering to help, but in their eyes it had become a matter of course.
Looking at his arrogant demeanor, I suddenly didn’t want to indulge him anymore.
“Too bad.” I said with a smile, “I’m not part of your family now, and I’m certainly not your family’s chef.”
Kyle was stunned, clearly not expecting me to respond this way.
He said angrily. “How dare you talk to me like that! I’m going to tell Mom and Uncle! Have you thrown out of our house.”
Be my guest.”
With that, I stepped around him, leaving him standing there with his face alternating between red and white.
He called out to me: “Hey! Are you serious?”
ignored him, but unexpectedly he chased after me.
Kyle’s eyes darted around. “Hey, actually I heard you on the phone. You’re going skiing?”
Mm, in a few days.”
kyle: “I want to go too! Take me with you.”
said without hesitation: “No, I don’t have time.”
yle suddenly sat down on the ground and started crying and making a fuss: “No! I just want to go. Aurora, please take me, okay?”
stood there, watching him sit on the ground with his face flushed red, throwing a tantrum, crying heartbreakingly with snot and tears all over his face.
his seven–year–old child had learned from an early age to use emotions to control everyone around him.
I don’t care! If you don’t take me, I’ll tell Uncle that you bullied me!”
yle shouted loudly, trying to use threats to gain compliance.
remained unmoved: “Kyle, this isn’t the first time you’ve done this. You can go tell anyone whatever you want to say. I won’t accommodate you in everything ust because I’m afraid anymore.”
didn’t care. I went to the mall and bought some skiing equipment.
When I woke up, Evan called again asking if I needed him to send a car to pick me up.
I declined. After breakfast, I drove to the ski resort.
