Of course I would attend this medical conference, just not using the slot Ferris gave me.
“I’m very interested in that intelligent surgical system medical conference you mentioned,” I said to Milo with a smile.
Milo’s eyes lit up: “That’s great! This Saturday, let’s meet there.”
I nodded in agreement.
He had other matters to attend to and politely said goodbye before leaving.
Just after Milo left, I saw Ferris’s sister Heather Vargan walking toward me.
She wore a well–tailored champagne gold suit with high heels, her presence as imposing as always, but she clearly paused when she saw me clearly.
She frowned tightly, her tone unconsciously turning cold: “What are you doing here?”
‘It’s Lunaris University’s anniversary today. I came back to have a look,” I said calmly.
But Heather showed a sarcastic expression, her eyes full of undisguised suspicion and contempt: “You graduated from Lunaris University?”
The doubt in her tone seemed perfectly natural.
n her mind, I was nothing more than a woman who climbed up by clinging to her brother, a low–born omega who only knew how to do housework and houldn’t have any connection to a true academic institution.
pointed to the alumni badge on my chest, gently opening it to reveal the graduation information with my photo.
ver the years, as long as I didn’t embarrass the Vargan family, we rarely interacted.
