Chapter87
While Brayan gave his answer, Jennifer also realized.
“Sorry, I’m too tired,” Jennifer rubbed her sore temples.
“Do you now realize how good it is to be a full–time housewife?”
Jennifer was stunned when she heard Brayan ask this suddenly.
In hindsight, she realized that Brayan must have thought she was incapable of being a designer, not that Catalina was deliberately making things difficult.
Before she could say anything in defense, Brayan’s body suddenly moved closer.
Jennifer smelled the scent of Hermes Terre d’Hermes on Brayan.
Brayan helped her fasten the seatbelt.
“Actually…”
His voice was deep, and his smile was like a half–smile.
“As long as you don’t ask for my heart, I’m still yours.”
The scorching kiss landed, Jennifer immediately turned her face away.
Brayan’s phone suddenly rang, sounding especially clear in the quiet underground parking lot.
Brayan wasn’t disappointed for not kissing Jennifer.
He calmly stood up straight and answered the phone.

“Hello?”
Jennifer, who was unfastening her seatbelt, heard Catalina’s voice, faint but unmistakable.
“Brayan, it seems like my neighbor was renovating, making a lot of noise. I felt scared and annoyed. Can you come pick me up?”
“Okay.”
Brayan agreed without hesitation.
“I wanted to go to Skyline Estates.”
Jennifer tightened her grip on the seatbelt all of a sudden.
Brayan had plenty of properties, but Catalina just had to choose their marital home.
“Skyline Estates is pretty close to the company, I don’t want to be late for work tomorrow…”
Before Catalina could finish explaining, Brayan interrupted with a quick,
“Okay.”
Jennifer has already unbuckled her seatbelt.
She didn’t say hi to Brayan, just got off the car and walked towards the exit.
Brayan didn’t try to stop me.
As they were walking quickly towards the exit, a black Maybach drove past Jennifer. Brayan rolled down the window and said to Jennifer, “Hey, see you later”

“Making herbal medicine is tough.”
Jennifer’s shoulder twitched.
In the distance, Brayan’s car drove away until it disappeared..
She gradually slowed down her pace, not sure if it was her feet feeling heavy or her mood.
It was late at night, almost 11 o’clock, and the subway had already stopped running.
Jennifer took a taxi alone and wrote down the license plate number.
