The Ex-Husband's Apology (by Sebastian Grey) novel Chapter 68

Chapter 68

When Brayan and Jennifer arrived together, Brayan was even carrying groceries for Jennifer, and he had a happy smile on his face.

Jennifer took the initiative to say hello to Marcel. When she saw Marcel’s smile, she understood why Brayan suddenly became attentive to her.

It’s all just an act for grandpa to watch.

Jennifer and Brayan chatted with Marcel for a while, then Jennifer went to the kitchen to get busy.

Although there were a lot of dishes to prepare for the birthday banquet, with a variety of styles, the old house had chefs and servants to help her out, so she actually found it easier than when she was at home.

Of course, now that house is no longer her home.

While Jennifer was busy in the kitchen, Brayan was playing chess with Marcel.

“That’s right, treat Jenny well. It’s not easy to find a girl as good as her these days.”

Brayan made a move in chess behind his grandfather’s back and simply replied, “Hmm.”

Jennifer was busy until 10 o’clock at night before she got everything ready for the birthday party the next day.

When she walked out of the kitchen, she found out that Marcel hadn’t slept yet and was still playing chess with Brayan.

“Grandpa, have you taken all your medicine?” Jennifer reminded.

The caregiver had a bad look on their face.

Jennifer knew from the caregiver’s expression that grandpa refused to take his medicine again.

Marcel had a bad heart and some other old–age illnesses. According to the doctor’s orders, he had to take a lot of medicine every day.

But as he got older, his mindset changed. Marcel always thought that if he took too much medicine, he wouldn’t live long. So sometimes he would get angry and refuse to take his medicine.

The LeBlanc family “tried everything to persuade the others, but nothing worked.”

But Marcel always listened to Jennifer.

“I’ll play a game of chess with grandpa!”

Upon hearing Jennifer say that, Marcel immediately waved his hand to shoo Brayan away.

“Hurry up, hurry up, get Jenny here quickly, Brayan is useless at this chess basket.”

Jennifer chuckled bitterly.

She knew Brayan always let Grandpa win on purpose.

“Grandpa, I can play chess with you, but if you lose, you have to promise me something/”

“No problem, Grandpa agreed to whatever Jenny said.”

Marcel agreed without hesitation, and lost without hesitation.
