Chapter59
Her mother–in–law demanded that she buy and cook fresh vegetables. every day, and never allowed any leflovers.
Breakfast should include four dishes and one soup to ensure a balanced diet.
Dinner was even more extravagant, not to the extent of a grand feast. but definitely no less than fifty different ingredients.
She and Brayan were just two people having dinner. Many times, Brayan had social engagements outside and forgot to tell her. She worked hard all day, cooking a big table of dishes, but Brayan didn’t eat a single bite.
I remember when we first got married, her mother–in–law used to come over to our house all the time.
Either checking if she had neatly folded the clothes in the wardrobe, or checking if there was any dust in the corners of the room.
Jennifer was busy from morning till night every day, so busy that she didn’t even have time to drink a sip of water sometimes, and she even had to hold it for a long time when she needed to go to the bathroom.
Most importantly, the social value was not recognized by others.
“When that old hag realizes she can’t do anything right, she’ll obediently go back home to continue being a maid.”
Ronan’s laughter was crisp.
Brayan just nodded “Hmm” lightly.
000%
“What are you doing?”
Jennifer was suddenly tapped on the shoulder, and she jumped.
Turning her head, she saw Catalina, who was smiling brightly
Although Catalina was smiling and her makeup was as sweet as ever. the hostility in her eyes was obvious.
“Jennifer, Brayan takes privacy very seriously. I suggest you not eavesdrop on their conversations next time. I’m just looking out for you.”
Catalina’s words made Jennifer smirk.
“You know my husband better than I do!”
Catalina’s face changed slightly, but quickly she put on a faint smile.
“There’s no way. Brayan is closer to me!” Catalina said, pushing open the door to Brayan’s office and turning to remind Jennifer:
“This is Brayan giving me a special privilege, only I can enter his office without knocking, don’t you dare try to do the same, or if Brayan scolds you, don’t blame me for not warning you.”
After Catalina went in, Jennifer didn’t want to cavesdrop anymore, making it seem like she cared a lot.
Does she care?
She definitely cared.
Jennifer returned to her desk, forcing herself not to care.
Not long after, Ronan came out from inside.
Jennifer probably thought Ronan didn’t want to be a “third wheel”
