The Ex-Husband's Apology (by Sebastian Grey) novel Chapter 39

Chapter39

They were worried about Jennifer, so they called her. Jennifer told them she was on the 77th floor, but didn’t pay attention to the room number.

Lydia pressed the speakerphone button at that time, even thought Jennifer disguised herself well, she and Jasper could still tell that Jennifer’s voice had changed.

“Jenny, where’s that jerk who ghosted you?” Lydia cracked her knuckles.

Jennifer casually replied, “He left… to find Catalina.”

“Damn!”

As they got off the elevator, Lydia kept cursing at Brayan. Jennifer was worried that Jasper would find it annoying, but Jasper said he actually loved hearing people curse at Brayan, as long as it was done well.

Tonight Lydia didn’t come home, she stayed at Jennifer’s to keep her company. Jennifer originally said Lydia didn’t have to stay, she didn’t want her friend to worry about her at this age.

Jennifer admitted that the scare and hurt Brayan brought her tonight. were not small, but she’s an adult, not a child, so she should solve her own problems.

Plus, Lydia had to work the next day, so staying at her place was too

far.

However, no matter what Jennifer said, Lydia insisted on staying with her. Jasper also advised her to let Lydia stay, so in the end Jennifer had

to compromise.

The old house on Sanford Street wasn’t very big, even though it was at suite. It only had one bed.

“I’m sorry Lydia.”

“What’s wrong with sharing a bed with you?”

Jennifer was amused by Lydia.

Both of them have to work tomorrow, but neither of them can fall asleep. They just lie in bed chatting, as if they were back in the time of living in the high school dormitory.

Back then, Jennifer and Lydia used to chat at night often, sometimes. until two or three in the morning, and then the next day the alarm clock went off countless times but neither of them wanted to get up.

“I said Jenny, what do you really like about Brayan?”

Lydia rolled over and asked curiously.

“What other advantages does he have besides being handsome, tall, fit, wealthy, capable, a CEO of a listed company, and coming from at wealthy family?”

Jennifer was at a loss.

She didn’t know if Lydia was trying to put Brayan down or compliment him with that comment.

The bedroom was quiet, Jennifer thought for a moment and said softly, “Brayan, he… was my first love.”

“Weren’t you two friends since college? He got into a car accident, and you saved him…”
