Chapter232
Brayan on the phone fell into a brief silence.
“It’s me.”
Jennifer’s heart skipped a beat.
She didn’t remember about the pending divorce with Brayan until she heard his voice.
“Is the divorce agreement ready?”
Jennifer asked proactively.
“Uh–huh.”
The receiver went quiet again, and after a moment, she heard Brayan continue,
“I thought you would call me first about the divorce agreement…”
“Sorry, I’ve been really busy since coming back from Utharia.”
“Too busy to remember to divorce me?”
After hearing Brayan’s soft laughter, Jennifer felt a bit uncomfortable.
She thought, “Brayan must have misunderstood, thinking that she didn’t want to divorce him.”
At first, Brayan did have this idea, but soon he realized…
Jennifer didn’t not want to divorce him.

But for present–day Jennifer, career is far more important than divorce.
Far better off without him.
Way beyond him.
Just as Jennifer was about to explain, Brayan’s voice came through the receiver again.
The voice became much colder.
“I sent you the divorce agreement, it should have arrived by now, remember to check.”
“Okay.”
Brayan hung up the phone first, Jennifer looked up, and the delivery guy happened to knock on the office door.
“Jennifer, here’s your parcel.”
Jennifer held the parcel in her hand.
It was a paper envelope, just the right size to fit three copies of the divorce agreement.
Jennifer didn’t open the envelope directly in the office, she waited patiently until she got home.
The night was quiet.
The old house on Sanford Street was lit up.
