Chapter 19

Catalina lowered her head, playing dumb.

“Don’t worry, Grandpa,” Brayan said, glancing sidelong at Jennifer with a charming, unreadable smile. “I’m nothing but great to her.”

Jennifer looked up at Brayan and found that smile ironic.

Maybe in Brayan’s eyes, he truly had given her enough.

She had expected it, yet Jennifer still felt a pang in her heart.

She abruptly turned to leave, but Brayan suddenly grabbed her arm from behind.

Brayan’s grip was stronger than Jennifer anticipated, and it hurt her.

Perhaps sensing Jennifer’s resistance, Brayan cased up slightly.

“I just wanted to remind you, don’t lash out at Catalina out of jealousy. She’s not going to take your place as Mrs. LeBlanc.”
