Iris chuckled lightly, saying, “If you’re so eager to become Mrs. Hale, why don’t you flirt more with Heriberto? Maybe he’ll be so smitten with you that he’ll immediately come with me to file for divorce.”
“Iris, don’t act like you’re pregnant in front of me. Having a baby at this time is just a way for you to try to take over Mrs. Hale’s position.”
Melanie was being mean, “Heri doesn’t love you anymore, and you’re still trying to take Mrs. Hale’s place and have Heri’s baby to inherit the Hale family. Don’t you think you’re being low and despicable?”
“Low and despicable?”
Iris was like, “Melanie, five years ago jumping into the icy river to save Heriberto, was that really you? And the baby you lost from Megan, it wasn’t Heriberto’s either.”
“Iris, you farted!”
Melanie couldn’t believe it, Iris‘ actually knew so many of her secrets, secrets she had never told anyone, only she knew. How could Iris know?
She panicked and blurted out, “You’re just jealous of me, that’s why you hate me, slander me. Do you think Heri will believe you? The person Heri loves now is me!”
“Is it?” Iris asked lightly.
“Melanie, I don’t care if Heriberto loves you or not, but don’t you dare touch Reina’s womb or the child in my belly.”

Suddenly, her voice turned cold, as cold as a bone–chilling wind, warning Melanie word by word, “Otherwise, I will definitely tear off your fake skin and make you a rat in the gutter, living worse than death.”
She hung up the phone without saying a word.
Melanie heard the “beep” of the phone hanging up in her car, and in her mind echoed Iris’s final threatening words.
She was so angry that she couldn’t help but throw her phone out fiercely, shaking all over.
“Oh, Melanie, what’s wrong?”
Kaitlin heard a noise and quickly ran over to comfort Melanie.
Melanie was furious and yelled, “Iris is such a bitch! Who does she think she is threatening me? Does she think she’s someone special, like the old Ms. Aguilera or Mrs. Hale?”
She snorted disdainfully, “Without Heri, she’s nothing, not even worth dog shit.”
“Yes, yes, yes!”
Kaitlin was busy patting her back to comfort her, nodding in agreement, “Of course Iris can’t compare to you. Over the years, even though you’ve been spending Heriberto’s money, at least now you’re a globally renowned cello queen. She’s just a housewife who only knows how to do laundry and cook. How can she compare to you? She’s not even worth one of your toes.”
After hearing Kaitlin’s words, Melanie felt more confident and said through gritted teeth, “I’m going to kill Iris, along with her baby in her belly. She won’t have a chance to give birth.”

“Of course, if she had the baby, it would be even harder for Heriberto to divorce her.” Kaitlin nodded.
“Kaitlin, do you know how to get rid of the baby in her belly?” Melanie grabbed Kaitlin’s hand excitedly.
She didn’t want to do it herself, otherwise Heriberto would have found out, and she wouldn’t have been able to excuse herself.
Kaitlin nodded, “I need to think about this carefully.”
“Kaitlin, I can’t wait any longer,” Melanie tightly held Kaitlin’s hand, pleading with her eyes, “As long as the baby in Iris’s belly is still there, Heri can’t divorce her for a day.”
Kaitlin frowned.
“Kaitlin, don’t worry. Once I become Mrs. Hale, you’ll be my greatest benefactor, like a second parent. What I have, you’ll have a share of it too.”
Seeing Kaitlin hesitating, Melanie kept on persuading her.
Kaitlin listened, the hesitation in her eyes faded away in an instant, nodding, “Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered. Just wait to be a glamorous Mrs. Hale.”
