Laurel hesitated for a moment, nodded and said “yes,” then turned and went out.
However, she didn’t go to bed. Instead, she just stood in front of the door, watching Heriberto outside through the peephole.
She didn’t know about Iris and Heriberto’s past, so there was no way she could know how much of a jerk Heriberto used to be.
Just felt that Heriberto was pretty pitiful now.
Didn’t you know, it was just like that saying, pitiful people always have something hateful about them.
From the afternoon till now, he had been waiting outside for seven or eight hours, not eating or drinking, and hadn’t left for even a moment.
But Iris didn’t soften up at all.
Outside the door, Heriberto clutched his stomach, which felt like there was a spiral blade churning inside. The pain made him sway, and even though he leaned on the door, he could barely stand.
He knew the people inside heard him knocking, they just didn’t want to open the door.
Thinking back on how Iris took care of him bit by bit, every stomach- friendly breakfast she made for him, every stomach–friendly dish she prepared, he just felt that he was really ridiculous now.
It was simply the biggest joke in the world.

He hated himself.
If he died, would Iris take another look at him?
But he couldn’t bear to die!
If he died, how could he ask for Iris’s forgiveness? How could he still see her give him that gentle, loving smile?
My stomach hurt more and more, more and more.
His cold sweat almost soaked his shirt.
“Knock knock-”
He was extremely weak. He used all his strength to bang on the door again, “Ira, give me one more… chance, okay…”
Just as he finished speaking, he couldn’t stand anymore, everything went black, and he collapsed.
Laurel saw him fall down in there, so she quickly went to report to Iris again.
Iris closed her eyes for a moment and said, “He stayed in room 03. Go get his people and take him away.”
Laurel nodded and hurried to do it.
But she rang the doorbell for a long time, and no one in 03 answered.
Iris seemed to have already expected it.
She walked out of the study, looked through the half–open suite door at Heriberto lying motionless in front of her door, his face pale as paper, hair on his forehead soaked with cold sweat, and there wasn’t much change in the look in her eyes.

She just walked to the coffee table in the living room, picked up the landline, and called the suite butler.
“Mr. Hale from 03 fainted at my door, please send someone to take him to the hospital.”
