He propped up his long legs, leaned against the wall at an angle, played with an unlit cigarette between his fingers, and scenes of having fun with Iris popped up in his mind.

If Iris could come back to him, not to mention quitting smoking, he could even quit eating.

Heriberto was friendly. No, not just friendly, you could even say he answered in a really proper way, “I want my ex–wife to forgive me.”

“Ha!” Zayden chuckled softly when he heard that, didn’t say anything, and left.

He came to Iris’s suite. The bodyguard greeted him respectfully, “Mr. Knighton.”

Zayden nodded, went straight to knock on the door of Iris’s suite, and said, “Ira, it’s me.”

Inside, Iris was listening to Bernard report on Powell Pharmaceuticals‘ work. When she heard the noise, she immediately got up and walked quickly to the door.

She opened the door and saw Zayden, and her happiness was obvious.

“Zayden.”

Zayden probably just wanted to annoy Heriberto. When Iris called him, he stepped forward with his arms open and pulled Iris into a hug. Then he quickly kissed the top of her head and said, “Missed you.”

Iris had been wondering why Zayden was acting a bit dramatic today, but when she looked up and saw Heriberto leaning against the wall across from them, she understood everything.

“Yeah, me too.” She hugged Zayden tightly as well and nodded, saying the same thing to him.

“Mr. Knighton.”
