Chapter 100
He always respected Julian, so he respected Katrina too, even though he knew that Julian didn’t really want to marry Katrina to the Powell family in the first place.
But as the eldest son in the family, Julian was groomed from a young age to be the heir, he didn’t have a choice, and he always followed the family’s arrangements.
“I heard you were pretty sick for over a week, are you feeling better now?”
Katrina was already waiting for Heriberto in his office. When he arrived, she stood up with a smile, looking elegant and poised.
“Thanks for caring, Ms. Powell. Everything’s fine now.”
Heriberto nodded at him, being gentle, “Is Ms. Powell coming to talk to me about the Maple Mountain project?”
Maple Mountain had a resort project, the Hale family and the Powell family developed it together.
“The project can wait, I just wanted to come and see you.”
Katrina said, pointing to the things she brought on the table, “I brought some immune–boosting supplements, you can give them a try.”
Heriberto glanced at the coffee table in the break area and said, “Thanks, Ms. Powell.
Katrina looked at him with a twinkle in her eye and smiled, “We’ve known each other for many years, our families have always been in

touch. We’re about the same age, so you don’t have to keep calling me ‘Ms. Powell‘, just call me Katrina.”
Heriberto politely curved his lips towards her, “I still prefer to call her ‘Ms. Powell‘.”
Katrina heard that, didn’t mind much, and smiled, “Since you’re feeling much better now, I won’t bother you with work. Let’s discuss the Maple Mountain project when the Powell Group team arrives in a couple of days. I’m off to the Hale’s mansion to keep Madam Hale company.”
“Okay, I’ll walk you home,” Heriberto said, making a gentlemanly gesture towards her.
Katrina didn’t hesitate, she just smiled and nodded at him, then grabbed her bag and walked out.
Heriberto stood next to her.
As they were leaving the office, Katrina’s high heels suddenly twisted, she let out a light cry and fell towards Heriberto.
Heriberto instinctively reached out to catch her, then quickly took a step back to create some distance between them.
“Sorry!”
Katrina stood on one foot, looking proper and a little awkward, and smiled.
Heriberto held her arm, trying to avoid any physical contact with her, and asked, “How are your feet?”
Katrina frowned, trying to step on her sprained foot.
She let out a soft “hiss” of pain with just one touch.

“Mara, come here.”
Heriberto didn’t comfort her, instead he looked towards the secretary’s office and called someone over.
Mara was staring at them, and when Heriberto called her, she immediately ran over. Without waiting for Heriberto’s instructions, she took Katrina from his hands and held her steady.
Heriberto let go and looked at Katrina, saying, “I’ll have Mara go with you to the hospital.”
Katrina frowned and shook her head, “No need, I have some ointment in my car, let me apply it first.”
“Ms. Powell, let me help you down,” Mara said with a smile, showing great respect on her face.
“Good, thank you for your hard work!” Katrina remained polite, then said to Heriberto, “You go ahead, see you another day.”
Heriberto nodded as Katrina limped away.
Katrina was helped into the car/by Mara.
As soon as the car door closed, the warmth on her face disappeared and was replaced by a coldness.
Just now she “twisted her ankle“, she was just trying to test Heriberto.
Looking at Heriberto’s indifferent reaction at that time, you could tell he didn’t care about her and was purposely keeping his distance from
her.
Getting Heriberto to marry her willingly seemed not easy.
But hey, at the end of the day, it’s all up to us, right?
